Trouble with Ord mandell mod

I recently installed the ord mandell mod (the one that adds a new planet with 5 new areas) and after I visited the planet and left I went to Manaan for the first time and I noticed all of the republic soldier npcs where gone they still talked in the cutscene and i could target them but they werent there and after the initial cutscene outside the ebon hawk dock the game crashed (its has done this on subsequent attempts as well) I noticed when i was on tthe planet that there were numerous republic soldier npcs used so I thought that the mod might have messed with something so I deleted all of the files from the ord mandell mod and tried again only to find that the republic soliders were still missing and the cutscene still crashed my game every time.... I have no idea what the problem is could someone help me figure out whats wrong and how to fix this? Thanks

 

EDIT: I don't know if this helps but I also had red hawkes jawa shop mod installed at the same time when I installed ord mandell ... I have tried the cutscene with both mods installed just the ord mandell one just the jawa shop one and niether installed and it seems that only the MALE versions of the republic npc soldiers are invisible the only time the game crashes is when there is a cutscene involving one of these npc's if I walk up to a invisible male npc republic soldier and engage in normal conversation the game does not crash... please someone tell me what you think might be wrong and if you can what I can do to fix this problem. I need your HELP!!!

 

EDIT: once again, I don't know if this helps but the ord mandel and the jawa shop mods (both made by red hawke) had one file in common that conflicted with one another when i installed ord mandel. This file was the global.jrl file and when i went to instal orbmandel it asked me to overwrite the global file... not knowing what this file was and thhe file sizes being different i said no and the mod seemed to work fine except for this one thing.... should i reinstal both mods and let the ord mandel global file overwrite the jawa shop global file? this problem is affecting the entire game as well as previously saved games and new games

Do you have the latest KOTOR Patch 1.03?

 

Do you have the latest version of both Mods installed?

 

When I re-released the Jawa Shop I believe I made the global.jrl the same one as was packaged with ORD Mandell. But by default you should use the global.jrl from ORD Mandell. So you should have overwritten it.

 

It is a good idea to check my readme files, as I give possible file overwriting instructions and options.

 

Also, I have never had this problem reported before... very strange, my mods do not use an appearance.2da, and an invisible NPC sounds to me like an appearance.2da issue.

 

Do you have any other mods installed?

 

My new area mods just use the stock game textures... so there is nothing that should be messing with other areas in the game, there shouldn't be anything that would make something be invisible.

 

This issue sounds really bizarre, I really don't know what to tell you to do... :(

Thanks for replying Redhawke :) however I tried uninstaling and reinstaling the game last night and then I reinstalled all of my mods and now the republic soldier is there and all cutscenes work

 

P.S. I dont know why this happend but I do have a mod that uses a .2da file so It is very possible that it had something to do with that mod, if it was I'm sorry I blamed your mod it was just the last one I had installed before I noticed the problem (it's possible the problem had been there for a while and my first visit to manaan just triggerd it) anyway thanks again for replying and sheding some light on this

Actually ED, if my understanding of the legalities of such things is correct, that would be illegal to do, the area files are from KOTOR I and by porting them to TSL and posting them for download would be a no-no, a violation of the EULA, and just plain illegal.

 

I believe this would be the same of any new area mod from KOTOR I.

This would do nothing, because it is the distributing files that port something from one game to another that is the illegal part... sorry I just don't see it in the cards for any of the KOTOR I areas to see the light of day in TSL!

Now this doesn't mean we can't take TSL areas and mix-n-match them into new places... Citadel Station, for starters, is begging for add on areas. :D

Or it's just begging to be used as a new moon sized space station base chassis.:D I wouldn't know who would be working on something like this though.:rolleyes:
