The Council Will See you Now

Well than fokes, i guess its time for me to reveal what ive been doing since i returned... Honestly, not much... days of at Easter make me lazy :p . Anyway...

 

 

While playing the game throught there is a cutscene I really liked... the council chamber (where u stick ure saber into the pillar of rock). My first time through, i didnt pay much attention to its structure, but the second time i realised it was in game... and therefore it was a built module... I also noticed that there was no load time between the conversation on the ebon hawk, where T3 plays back the 'trial' info and between the actualy Council Chamber itself, therefore it was part of one of the ebon Hawk modules, just tucked away somewhere. Initial investigation showed it wasnt in the 3 main ones thatappear at the top of the list in Kotor Tool, but i Found it hidden amongst the list. And after comparing the CreatureList in the .git file i was able to plug in the right entry spawn coordinates to get u in the chamber. Right thats how i got there.... now the actualy thing.

 

The chamber, i have to say is brilliant.. You can see the coruscant skyline throught the windows and their are chairs, the stone, and the council members yadie yah. There is also a door that leads to a small corridor leading away from the chamber ( but stops after the next door only about 15m down).

 

Ive already done some new .utc files to fill up the council seats (not in screenshots), and there are a few issues that need to be sorted, which should cause me minimal fuss such as:

 

1. The centre pillar and chairs are not solid, however this can be resolved without playing with models (dont worry ive tested it)

 

2. The door at the end of the exit corridor opens to, well, nothing. But just making a new door about 5m in front of that and locking that one should be able to sort any module transit issues easily.

 

3. Not really an issue, but solid landing pads are clearly visible form the windows, (one with a shuttle on it) so i guess these could be used as entry points, however i havnt tested if they are solid to walk on (i.e. that area is in teh .wok file (or something... Fred knows more than anyone about those)

 

Anyway, Ive already filled up the rest of the Chamber, i havnt bothered with anything like dialogues yet, just put the npcs there to make it look more real.

 

What i ask of you.... Is what do you want me to do with it... I really really want to use it for something... but what? SO Bring on the suggestions

 

ONE QUICK THING - IM NOT CREATING CORUSCANT FULL STOP (sorry, its too much work... i know its been mentioned in the requests every so often, but i dont do full worlds... a few areas yes, not worlds!!!)

 

some possible ideas that brush my mind:

1./ The Holowan COuncil (you know what im like :D)

 

2./ Jedi Temple Side Quest of some kind

 

etc.

 

Anyway, you can see the chamber in the cutscene but i bet you would like some screenshots, well here you go:

Well fokes, thats my little discovery, im sure its not new to all of you, in fact i wouldnt be surprised if someone has already posted about this... But i hope it interests some of you.

-Edit- Sorry i forgot to mention that the module is called 950COR... You will find it riht at the bottom of your modules list in KotorTool described as (Ebon Hawk)

Glad you vagualy interested then :D

 

There is also another hidden Area that someone will be able to find (unless i remember what module i was in when the cutscene started first :p)

 

Its the bridge of a republic ship, where you see the Commander of the fleet

 

 

Carth if you said Revan went Light Side

and apparantly someone else if Dark.

Hey DD, would you like to join me on the deathstar. I've been trying to think of further incorporation into the game and I could really use the help. That and this sounds like a great resource to use to motivate the plot for the mod. Posibly be given your asignment to seek out and destroy the death star if your light side from this location. Meanwhile for the Darkside quest being aboard the ravager or something and being directed to see to the completion of the Deathstar. If you want to do this I would apreciate the extra addition of a quality modder.

How about this idea, instead of meeting on Dantooine after Onderon, you meet on Coruscant in the council chamber. I remember there's alot of dialouge that happens concerning Dantooine, there's also some references during the meeting itself I remember, maybe it's minute enough to edit it out and allow this to happen.

 

Also, did it bug anyone else besides me that all the council memebers were human? I mean one of the cooler parts of the prequals I thought was how they portrayed the Jedi council. There were various species from all over the galaxy in there ranks. We have several alien models in game, perhaps it would be possible to switch the models and add more diversity?

you have a good point there bud, the jedi coucil shouldn't all be human, it was good to see different kinds of species in the jedi council.

I would love to see this as a place you could go to get a quest.

Maybe even immortalize some of the TOP Holowan Modders by placing them in the chamber as Jedi Masters as well.

 

Darth333 could give you a quest to learn her Lightsaber floating power...

Redhawke could give you a quest to find one of his awesome Prestige robes...

Mav could give you a quest to find an important and legendary Lightsaber...

The list goes on and on. Definetly something that could be expanded on.

Hmm i like that idea.... I guess it wouldn't fit with the story, but an Mod that gives quests for Mods is a good one.... I guess it could be made an open project, i make the first few quests then leave it open for others to make some, and add to it..

Too big, all the scripting points to the dantooine module, and loads of the dialogues etc. etc. I guess it might be possible, but it'd take too much changing.

First off, great discovery DD, definetly an outstanding find, manny ideas falshed through my mind after reading the post.

 

Now I really like Drazin's idea, and as a way to maybe increase it's chances of becoming a reality I have sort of an offer. Especially since I wouldn't mind encountering Jedi Weapons Master Maverick ;).

 

Anyway I just finished a model for another mod, and I am starting my work for my newest model, which will be "my model" a.k.a. Jedi W.M. Mav's lightsaber. I don't want to ruin the surprise with a description, but I could make the model exclusive to this mod, if you choose to take this path ;). Only thing is you would have to make the quest for it seeing as I don't know how.. lol.

Ahh, but that is why we mod so that we can tell the story from a different perspective. Not to mention that by the end of TSL you have set into motion changes for the better.

Your point being? I didn't say "this idea is bad opposed to the Holowan spire", whatever that may be...

 

The PC is the last known Jedi. There is no council on Dantooine, there is no council on Coruscant. Only a few scattered Jedis in hiding here and there.

 

It would completely ruin the story if there suddenly is a full-functioning council on Coruscant after all.

 

For people that only care about seeing some goofy characters with their own names in the game, that might be all good and well. But for people (like me) who prefer to treat the story a bit more seriously, it's really not an otion.

No arguing please, dont ruin the thread.... Its a useful discovery and i dont want it locked!

 

@ Hive - The point of this thread is a disscussion of possible uses, i dont want to see any ideas shot down, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however much others agree or dissagree.

 

Also bear in mind that just because one mod uses a module, it does not reserve it so that any other cannot use it. Just because i found the module it does not meen otehrs cant use it too, therefore many mods are possbile, and if people like mods that do not connect with the story, then they can make them, and you dont avhe to download them.

 

Personally, i would not mind seeing both, the chamber would be good at being implemented in a story, i have no dout of that, but the idea of having some kinda of 'centre' to get all the mod items or get access to quests people ahve made... i.e. a kind of modding chamber, to make it easier for people.

 

Anyway, im not discouradging discussion.... if you have an idea but think it might not work, please post it anyway.. the more the better.

I didn't mean to discourage anyone or anything, I was merely pointing out that the idea mentioned wouldn't make any sense in connection with the story.

 

But if that's not an issue, then by all means go ahead and do your mod. I was just saying. :)

That settles it then. This must be done.

 

Not only would it be a first of its kind, but it would promote Holowan Labs and our top Mod makers. I really really hope this takes off.

Imagine, a place to go to that would give you new quests for neat things! Hearing the Voices of our modders as they explain your quest... Maybe even during the quests you could gain some storyline info that was left out here and there.

This has endless possibilities and could be the largest joint effort project and maybe even the most daring mod ever produced.
