Only problem with that is the story is about the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin. Something about before he came into the picture would not belong in the SW saga.

So you'll not be watching the TV series if it doesn't include Anakin then?

So you'll not be reading any novels or comics that don't include Anakin then?

So you'll not be playing any computer games that don't include Anakin then?

So you won't be reading any pop-up books that don't include Anakin then?

I could go on.

I would love to see a movie trilogy based after VI and involving Grand Admiral Thrawn.

You misunderstand me completely. By SW Saga, I did not mean the SW universe. I meant the movie series. There is a reason that the books, TV series, comics, games, pop-up books, etc. don't have an episode number associated with them. It is because they are not chapters of the story told in the movies. The story told in the movies is about the rise, fall, and redemption of Anakin. The story is told. Anything else is just a spin-off.

I think, perhaps, it is the other way around.

My point is that with a backdrop as rich and interesting as the Star Wars universe it is not unthinkable for another movie to be made based on a completely different character and storyline.

There are an infinite amount of greek-tragedies to base a new movie upon. ;)

If they did that though, they couldn't be part of the saga. They'd have to be their own bit. Because the Saga is the story of the Skywalkers. Anakins rise, fall, and redemption.

My thoughts exactly. I couldn't say it better myself.

no no no. I was talking about Episode 7, 8 , and 9. Based upon Luke and his trails as a Master.. THere is so much to go off of following Return of The Jedi.

But the SW Saga, i.e. the six episodes tell the story of Anakin. The story of Anakin is told, in its entirety. There is nothing for 7, 8, and 9 about. There might be a lot to cover in the SW Universe, but not in the SW Saga. The only way there will be more episodes of SW is if Lucas decides to go back and change his mind about what the saga is about. Thats something I don't want to happen, and something I don't think will happen.

Well it's either let it end with a bang and a strong following, or whore it out like Star Trek and ruin the franchise by filling it with crap.

I'm so glad they did that to Star Trek. I hate it so much.

I used to tease my mother, a big ST fan, that you could see the strings that held the planets up when the Enterprise flew by.

Oh man. Confused loyalties, I feel. Maybe it would be cool to have more movies, but on the other hand, you just can leave that to the EU. I dont think EU sucks, of course the movies are more important, and EU will be everything we have after this, and believe me, theres still a lot in the Sw universe. I think I can live with that.

I liked that ST analogy. I like the originals, but they really ****ed up all the concept with all the crap they made later. Id hate that SW would come to that.

And theres the live-action TV series that are the closest thing well get to the movies, unless someone else does 7-9. Who knows?

If there was going to be a new movie, it should be back in the time of KOTOR, i.e The Great Hyper Space Wars and The Fall of the Sith. Plus to make it interesting they could have prophesized the "Chosen One". But it shouldnt be about Luke, if it was in ep 7, 8, 9 the the story line, let alone the actor wouldnt work at all. Its just best to say that if Lucas is going to make something else it is going to have to be in the era of KOTOR.

There is more than enough out in the SW universe that they can make some more great movies without Star Wars getting played out, because granted unlike Star Trek, people can't get enough Star Wars. I think Lucas can pull it off, and do a great job.
