Sivy
no titanic is still top with an overall total of $1.8 billion lord of the rings ROTK is 2nd, and Harry Potter 1 is 3rd spider-man broke the 'fastest to make $100m' and the 'opening weekend' total. but is only 7th in the overall grosses. Nalukai
and they are whining about the internet leak knowing everyone of those ppl that have that ****ty time coded copy on dvd is gonna go see it in the theatre anyway another 3 times plus buy the dvd when it comes out... the only thing they ever cared about anyway was the money... and fast money... if they were smart they should have made the movie longer like it should have been and made it into 2 like kill bill... sigh at lucas... hooray for the legacy of sw... but sigh at the prequels. toms
I think it might do it, but i reckon it will have a huge opening weekend (when all the hardcore fans watch it) then a lull (as a lot of people have been put off the franchise by the prequels) then a resurgance as word of mouth gets round that its a big improvement. jon_hill987
What about all the people who havn't ben able to watch it yet but are still fans? I have only just finished my exams, and half term is next week. There will be a lot more people going to see it yet...
ET Warrior
Originally posted by Nalukai sigh at lucas... hooray for the legacy of sw... but sigh at the prequels. sigh at people who will never be pleased. If all George Lucas cared about was the money, he would allow A.) Movie theaters access to the other movies, to have Star Wars marathons. He refuses. B.) The few drive-ins left to show the movie there. He also refuses to do this, because he says the experience and sound is bad. So no, it's not all about the money and fast money. Thanks for playing. And no, it should NOT have been split into two movies. Where would the first one have ended? And how much would have to be added to make two two hour movies? You'd need twice as much material, which would mean the pacing would be completely off, and basically crap.

Sivy
you know what the secret of Titanic’s success was? It was a great film to take a girl to if you wanted to get laid. It pushed all the right buttons with most girls. they would come out of the cinema all weepy and emotional, and wanting to get into a car as quickly as possible to steam up the windows. the film was like porn for females... why do you think people went like 10-15 times?
