7th July 2005 50+ people killed (and rising) death toll not including trapped bodies. An explosion in an underground train killed many people, followed by two more explosions in the underground, then the top of a double decker bus blown sky high killing a further 13 people. Please post feelings etc. T_T

Yes it's horrible isn't it? I've been seeing it everywhere now. It's actually a terrorist attack if you didn't know. (I'll assume you didn't because you didn't put it into your post)

It's sick what people can do, huh?

A friend of mine was on the first tube hit. She got out with a few burns and smoke poisoning, but she was really shaken up with it. I'm just glad she's alive. Al Quaeda claim to be the ones responsible.

Horrible yes, unexpected... to me at least no.

It was merely a matter of time before Blair choice of following Bush into this so-called war on terror came back and bite us in the arse. A horet's nest has been shaken and its never those responsible for starting or dragging us into this mess to get stung...

rant over

Hence why i did n't say it was them, only that they claim responsibility. The government knew about this ages ago, just as Bush had been informed about 911 long before the event. Somehow they didn't think increasing security for the G8 sumit and thus cutting abck on security elsewhere would be much of a problem. G8 made the country most vunerable.

It's shocking what happened last thursday, but London stood tall against the German bombers in WWII so I think we can show the terrorists that they can't hurt us no matter how hard they try.

Tell that to the people who died. I think it's about time people woke up and smelled the rigor morits.

What more can we do? We can remember. We can make sure they didn't die in vain. If the government sits back and does nothing then it'll just continue, more people will die when they won't have to. I'm not saying go to war. I'm saying fix things, before they get worse. We can go about our lives as we did before, but we can't act as if this didn't happen.

I disagree. You wanna give candy to the kid who makes a ruckus in the shop? You wanna give ransom to the kidnappers? That will get you into more trouble later.

What do you think would soothe the terrorists? Let's get rid of democracy! Let's convert to Islam!

How about getting rid of the joke that is meant to be democracy and replacing it with the real thing. Leaders that do what they are actually meant to do and answser to the people, not going around trying to do this that and the other, interfering with others while there are problems at home to be sorted.

For how can you solve the larger problems of others when you are unable to solve your own smaller problems?

The only way to deal with the London Bombing incident is this - do nothing. Don't let those who wish to threaten our way of life feel that they've had an impact. Yes, people have died, London had been brought grinding to a halt. Luton, where I live, some 30 miles north of London, has partially shut down due to an exploded car outside the Train Station that Police believe is connected with the London incident.

The best way to deal with it? Do nothing. Blair has, AFAIK, stated that this is his Plan of Action. Bush's plan was "Let's begin a War on Tourism... sorry, Terrorism!" and start bombing a Country that might possibly have a connection with the Terrorists maybe, then use that action to justify going to war with another country who not only had nothing to do with it, but wasn't even doign anything wrong. Funny, isn't it.

Blair's decision to do Nothing is the smartest one to make.

People have lost lives, friends, relatives, lovers, purely because some people like their God a little too much. Just because there are no plans to do something, doesn't mean that they died for nothing.

I said nothing of the sort. If a kid makes a ruckus in the shop you tell him off and hope he's learnt something in 20 years time. You want to make sure it doesn't happen again. I also agree with what Blairs doing, we don't want to attack anyone or wage war, but we should find out who did what and punish them accordingly.

Not really, but this is funny:

Although some media have classified the "classic terrorist" as muslim, I don't think the whole thing is tied too much to one single religion. To me it seems to be mostly the extremist/fanatic groupings using so called 'terror' as primary weapon, especially against civilians/innocent victims because it is supposed to be more effective (demoralising) than killing "ready-to-die" soldiers. Also, what else can you do against a stronger military power than literally attacking the soldiers family and make him (mentally) weak.

In the end, if the military enemy is too powerful, attacks will turn against non-military targets, no matter if the aggressor is of military nature or not.

I'm not muslim, but I know enough of them to know that bombing trains and buses and killing innocent people isn't constituted by said religion. If any group claims to perform such actions in the name of a chosen deity, they probably don't understand their religion too well.

No it won't, but it doesnt mean you cant show any respect for the dead you ****. People have died... show some compassion for people who have to go through this with lost friends/relatives. I was lucky that noone i was close to was hurt or killed in the explosions, but others werent. Show some respect!
