Bob Lion54
Hey all. I was wondering what you guys would recommend as the best free web host. It dosen't have to be fancy or anything, as all I want to do is host a fan fic for that section of LF. (I prefer that to just cut and past into a thread. It's just neater, to me anyway.) I know there are a couple of free sites out there like freewebs.com, geocities.com ext.ext, but what do you guys use? Any input is appriciated. Thanks. Darth333
If it's for fanfic, you don't need much space so pretty much everything will do (but I must say I hate freewebs and if you intend to upload something else than text documents, you'll run out of bandwidth pretty fast). If you don't absolutely want a website, you could go with Walagata.com for hosting. It's only a 5MB account but direct linking to your file is allowed and you are pretty much free with the type of files/documents you can upload, even .exe files. The only thing, is that they have a limited amount of free spots but if you can get one, you should find it quite practical.
Bob Lion54
^^^^ Well, I checked out Walagata.com, but they where filled. Seems good, though. I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future. So, freewebs is a "no go" then. I might put a picture or two up, but I'm really only planning on text. So I guess any service will do, then? (exept freewebs. hehe) Thanks for the advice!
Snafu7
you could use http://www.0catch.com, free host, and you get 100mb of space, but Im not sure how much bandwidth they give you.
MdKnightR
I host ArtCrusade.com through Doteasy. It is free, bannerless web hosting. The only thing is that you have to pay for domain registration ($25 per year, $45 for 2 years). Of course, this method is only useful if you really want your own .com. If you are content to have a long URL and don't mind banners and/or popups on your site, try geocities or angelfire.
