When your fighting someone hand-to-hand, you need speed and/or strength (or a really ****ty oponent). When *injuring* somebody with a rifle, you need hand-eye coordination, but you know that if you hit this person, that person is likely to be in a serious, serious amount of pain, and your going to possibly kill them. When fighting with your hands you don't have the same kind of destruction you get via a gun.

No, it depends on what rifle you're using and what weapon you use in melee.

An M-16 at 500 m doesn't do as much damage as a mace in close combat.

Melee combat deals just as much damage as ranged.

Then you're off topic as we were talking about melee in general. Besides, if I punch you in the right place you can die from internal bleeding after barely 2 mins.

I don't remember the name, it's the hole between your thoracic cage and your abdomen.

Besides, this was mainly about honor in battle (at least my original point was).

Sword or rifle, I think it's pretty dumb, just as war is.

War for the right reasons?

Hmmm... this confuses me. Maybe if people would stop being complete ****heads we wouldn't have to fight wars. As far as I can tell there have been no reasonable wars.

War is sometimes necessary... World War I and II are fine examples. When it comes to the United States, the Revolutionary and Civil Wars were also necessary.

The War on Iraq was also important. If you look at Sadam's history, he took the country over by killing close and confrontational friends and enemies. Sadam's policies are based upon paranoia, power, and domination. When Sadam was in power, he used his people as sheilds, he killed children by the hundreds, and he gasses his own people. There is a large list of garbage he is responsible for. Sadam's sons where also involved with killing children. Sadam's hero was Starline (splg?). I forget who was president of Iraq before him, but Sadam had him killed, and then took over with the power of the Iraqi army. Tell me something!? Does Sadam deserves a fair trial? Did anyone say anything about human rights when he killed people?

So, war is dumb? Tell that to everyone who died in World War II by one of the most satanic people on Earth... Hitler was close to World domination, and his killing spree could have been endless.

War is very important!

(Sorry for being off topic.)
