stingerhs Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 in light of this being a forum dedicated to a great RPG series, i think we could use an 'infusion' of news about another RPG. anyways, i picked up this bit of news about Neverwinter Nights 2. interestingly, OE decided to use a completely new graphics system while largely keeping the original Bioware RPG engine intact. the section on modding support was something else that i think a lot of us will also find a bit interesting. so, thoughts on the news and the game???
Emperor Devon Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Seems to be a trend - Obsidian is making sequels to Bioware's games. KOTOR II, NWN II... and hopefully, Jade Empire II.
Vladimir-Vlada Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 This news makes me start to believe that Obsidian and Bioware are planing on making a partnership. Looks like they will be working together from now on. (And, hopefully, together on KOTOR 3)

When Obsidian took over KotOR, I at first assumed it was a hostile thing -- Bioware and LA got pissed off at one another, and decided to part ways. But really, they seem to be getting on rather well. It wouldn't surprise me to see a merger in the future now. That seems to be the way industry is going. Then again, Bioware's always bucked industry trends, so who knows?
