lukeiamyourdad
Man, the Canadiens don't like too well this year. Trading Niinimaa for Riberio. Not really. The team had no defense and Ribeiro prefers nightclubs to putting effort into his game. I was rooting for him to get thrown out. (Sure he can. He did it a couple of times...) More or less. Roy had decent teams backing him up. Just look at Luongo with the Panthers. Could never get to the playoffs. Yet he's their best element. Far from trying to compare the talent of Roy to Luongo, I'm just saying that an amazing goalkeeper without a decent team to back him up won't win anything. Which doesn't seem to be the case for poor old Roberto with Vancouver. As for Anson Carter: http://www.nhl.com/players/8459156.html
Mace MacLeod
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!! They lose their top RW after a career year (33 goals) to a $&&^%$%$£!! contract pissing contest...MAN Nonis is not gaining my confidence in a hurry. Boom, they just let Carter walk away. That sucks so much ass it's not funny. And I was just being my usual smart-ass self about Roi. No, Luongo doesn't compare to Roi, but maybe there are only a tiny handful of goalies in the NHL's entire history that do. Maybe. It's just that Vancouver has been a goalie graveyard for so long, the chance that they might actually settle on a more-or-less permanent #1 guy between the pipes it's hard not to get hopeful. Cloutier always had his doubters (helped along by his playoff performance, or lack thereof), and he had a rep as being a spaz who'd lose it when it really counted. Can't say he ever fully shut them up...
Commander Obi-Wan
Not really. The team had no defense and Ribeiro prefers nightclubs to putting effort into his game. I was rooting for him to get thrown out. I think Niinimaa isn't that great a defenseman since he left Edmonton. I've really never liked him as a player, but he was pretty good while in Edmonton, but in New York and Dallas, he was subpar. But, I guess you know more about what's good for the Canadiens than I do since you are from there and around that area. Yeah, I think that is a pretty decent signing for the Blue Jackets since I heard Carter will be on a line with Nash and Fedorov or with Zheredev, he'll be with one of those lines. @MTV - If I were you, I'd've tooken either Anaheim or San Jose make to cup for the Western Conference, but that just me. And Ottawa for the East. But, their problem is that they play like **** in playoffs once they have succeeded past the first round. (except once, IIRC, when they lost New Jersey in Game 7 like 3 years ago)
MTV2
well my last picked was St.Louis Blues (it was either that or the NY Islanders) and when i picked, someone already took Ottawa and Anaheim, dont know about San Jose though.

Yeah, he doesn't have such a great record, but he's not a number one defenseman either. He's there to back up Markov, Souray, Bouillon and Rivet, especially when those guys get injuries. And they will be injured during the course of the season. Ronald King, sportswriter at La Presse interviewed a few members of Montréal's portuguese community which has supported their son, Mike Ribeiro, in the past. Turns out they aren't sad about seeing him leave, some even wanted him out since it brought them shame...
ET Warrior
...****. What a lousy end to what started as a good hockey game... Stupid Avalanche.
MTV2
Yes, Dallas beat Colorado. Atleast they got a good start. Now the Canadiens and St.Louis have to do well to.
Prime
Hopefully Gerber can step up...For one game at least, Gerber looked very good... But it was against TO, so that doesn't really count
Commander Obi-Wan
But it was against TO, so that doesn't really count Ya better hope so!! Losing 6-0 to the Maples Leafs. Oh well, at least the Oil won! Sykora and Hemsky were brilliant. Great start to the season. And Roloson played a great game. I have a good sense that the Oilers are going to have a great season, and even before the game last night, I knew they were going to have a great season. XD EDIT: And the Avalanche lose again. And in OT, too.

Commander Obi-Wan
Ryan Smyth ftw! He scored 3 goals in 2:01, beating the team record previously held by Gretzky (2:18, IIRC). Although, Cheechoo also had a natural hat trick. Oh, well. The Oilers won! \o/ Though, I do wish this game was on cable tv.
MTV2
The Dallas Stars are doing really well so far. They're unbeaten in 5 games, just hope they can hang onto the 1st spot.

Like we have 3 scoring lines as Vancouver has only one. Meh. We'll win tonight.
Commander Obi-Wan
OMFG!!!!!! Worst. Call. Ever. Okay, I just finished watching the Dallas Star and the Edmonton Oilers game. The Oilers were losing for the first 58 minutes, and we scored to make it 3-2. Then, with 7 seconds left, the Oilers scored BUT, the ref Mick Magoo waved it off. Since he said there was a hand pass from Horcoff (player in the faceoff circle), but it was 1000% clear that he did not touch it, and one of our players shot it and another player (Hemsky) took the rebound and scored! Then, he waved it off!! Like ****, and can't believe they would not be able to review the ****ty call! OMFG!!! ****.

Mace MacLeod
OMFG is that Magoo guy still reffing in the NHL?! I've been out of touch being over on the other side of the pond for almost a year now, but that guy should have been sent back to whatever beer league pond hockey hole he crawled out of years ago. Inconsistent reffing and blatant blown calls have been a huge credibility problem for the NHL for years, and I swear that Magoo guy is the absolute worst. Just about every single game I've seen him ref, he's blown something basic. He's a walking advertisement for an "eye-in-the-sky" supplemental ref. Commander Obi-Wan
The Oil finally won again. Took 4 games, but at least they played well. Thoresen and Lupul getting into a scrap each, was good to see, though Svitov should hae gotten a game misconduct. >_> But Smytty and Hemsky did there job, by scoring, as did Lupul. An entertaining game to watch, nonetheless.
Prime
Sens finally beat someone. Did they ever think they would be counting the days for Emery to come back?
Commander Obi-Wan
As long as the Sens beat the Maple Leafs, whether Emery or Gerber is in net, I'm happy.
Commander Obi-Wan
The time has come. Chris Pronger is coming back to Edmonton. I personally have mixed reactions about this. Since he helped us get so far, yet he left in his first year of the five year contract. I just hope the Oilers win, though I won't be able to watch it. Arátoeldar
I see that the Bruins have picked up from where they were last season. Even with all the changes in the Bruins organization.
