Taarkin Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Am I the only one who thinks Leia looks much better in ESB than in RotJ? And no, I'm not forgetting about the metal bikini.
Keyan Farlander Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Yeah, I think the drugs really took their toll.
Nute Gunray Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 I don't even think Carrie Fisher is attractive in the "look, a female human" sense.
Keyan Farlander Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 She's no dog (nor is Portman) but she fit her Star Wars role extremely well (unlike Portman).
Rogue Nine Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Originally posted by Keyan Farlander Disagree. I agree that it is good that she does not look some altered freak of nature, but in opinion, she just doesn't have a very pretty face. What he said. You go, boy.
Nitro Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Nitro has no comment on this matter. Owwww! Keri, let go of my arm!

Nute Gunray Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 I think Portman looks more 'royal' than Fisher did. Plus Portman looks like Audrey Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn was SORT OF low-level royalty.
BasiliskJC Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Originally posted by Keyan Farlander She's no dog (nor is Portman) but she fit her Star Wars role extremely well (unlike Portman). I think Portman fit her part nicely. Could I be wrong?
Tierce Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 not wrong..but i like portman more as padme because portman has that "girl next door" quality to her which makes her attractive....Portman as amidala...i thought made her look cheesy and out of character.
Redwing Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Geez...that's like saying "Luke just doesn't have the looks to be a Jedi; he reminds me of a sort of stormtrooper type." How can you be out of character because of the way you look when you are the character?
Keyan Farlander Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 So you're saying there's no point in making careful casting decisions?
Zargon Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 I thought that her VOICE fit the role as the Queen very well personally, it a very snobbish air to it
Rogue Nine Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 I agree with Zarg. But I don't think its her role that's at question. I don't think anything is at question. It's just that some of us don't think that she's as pretty as some of you make her out to be.
Keyan Farlander Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Originally posted by Zargon I thought that her VOICE fit the role as the Queen very well personally, it a very snobbish air to it I believe the voice was digitally altered to sound different, actually (when she was the queen).
Nute Gunray Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Her "queen voice" was changed. It was made deeper. It's still her though, kinda how in My Fair Lady it's SORT OF Audrey Hepburn that's talking...but sort of not because someone else was doing the vocals mixed with hers or SOMETHING FREAKY like that.
Redwing Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Originally posted by Keyan Farlander So you're saying there's no point in making careful casting decisions? I just say trust Lucas...he envisioned the character of Padmé/Amidala, so Portman must have fit that role. I don't see how we can say she's out of character when we don't know the character. =/ As for her looks, I agree with Zargon.
Nute Gunray Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Blasphemers! Blasphemers everywhere! What is this heresay!
Keyan Farlander Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Originally posted by Redwing I don't see how we can say she's out of character when we don't know the character. =/ We can say it because when she talks it sounds as if she wants to be somewhere else, or is bored, or something.
Nute Gunray Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 She does. She wants to be at dinner with me. Anyone that says different gets stabbed. My stabbing knife has been getting a lot of use lately and now it has the taste for human blood.
Zargon Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 I tihnk it could use a big gulp of Nute, or that Nute needs a big gulp of Tranqs, just keep that knife away from me, I already said that shes pretty
