Arreat Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Anyone know how to tell what type of hard drives are supported by my motherboard? Thanks for the help in advance
RoxStar Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 What kind of motherboard do you have.... Get PC Wizard, and that should show you, if you don't know.
BongoBob Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Arreat knows alot aboot canadians but not aboot computers eh? j/k man. It all depends upon what connection the hard drive uses. Did you buy it from a store or is it selfbuilt?
Nerd_Annhilator Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 What kinda motherboard Its either IDE or SATA
acdcfanbill Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 turn off the pc, unplug it, ground yourself, plug in the hdd cable and power after securing it, turn back on.
Arreat Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 Thanks for the help people, but is the mainboard the same thing as the motherboard? 'Cause that's all that the programs are giving me. EDIT: Man, this is really frustrating - I have a Compaq Presario 5330CA and all I'd like to know is if its IDE or not. Man I never knew it would be so difficult.
