Jason91
After watching the 47min e3 demo I thought of a question to ask is there Any chance of the space of ground combat geting a little crouded. By this mean like being so many Tie fighters or X-Wings that there's no room to move. And the same with the ground component. There being so many ground forces that theres no room to move and fire. What brought this idea to my head was when i saw a ground battle and i saw all the imp forces attacking and to me it all seemed a little crouded. Plz tell me i'm just being paranoid and that there's nothing to worry about. Because the last thing i want is for there to be no room to move your forces an engage and every 1 be in each others road. Plz tell me i'm being paranoid. Jason91 "I COME FROM THE LAND DOWNUNDER"
popcorn2008
Well the E3 video is quite old now, they have enhanced the game quite a bit since then, so they have tweaked pop. caps, and probably unit formations so the game screen doesnt look so crowded. lukeiamyourdad
Lol, I've seen worse then that. Obviously you've never seen one of my Carthaginian Iberian Infantry mob. Now that's crowded Seriously though, being a bit crowded is how Star Wars space battles should be. Look at Ep3 and Ep6. Both of their space battles seemed pretty crowded and it was a lot of fun to watch

Teradyn
Um, no chance of crowding unless you have every unit on both sides sent to the exact same spot. Damn pop cap! 10 indead! AGRRRGGGGGG. I am not happy about this at all.
FleetAdmiral AK
I wouldn't mind the Space battles to be crowded I would just go into battlecam and watch an hour long kick ass space battle!

Garbageben
I wouldn't mind the Space battles to be crowded I would just go into battlecam and watch an hour long kick ass space battle! I'd rather have a smaller more manageable fleet that I would actually win the battle with instead of watching a huge unmanageable fleet fighting in cinematic mode and letting them all possibly die. Also you can record battles, so you can watch them later. No need to do it the first time when it counts.

And you can't always micro-manage the battle, sometimes you have to go cinematic coz there isn't anything else to do If you're outnumbered, I'm sure anyone will do their best or retreat. Not necessarily true. I play BFME online some and at the end of the game there is an option to save the replay and I have experienced no lag. Also this is an RTS were lag is of less importance than say a FPS where a second of lag could kill you. Yes I acknowledge there might be some lag, but overall you would be better off just watching the recording of the battle instead of forgoing all strategy and going to cinematic mode. PS - I'm not trying to call you out. Just saying.
FleetAdmiral AK
I will micro manage but every now and then while a battle goes on I will sit back and relax for a minute then go back to managing again.

PS - I'm not trying to call you out. Just saying. Not always, in Starcraft you can save the replay but if you watch it, you'll see that not everything is the same as you did! Just the amount of kills etc become the same. And offcourse, I know in RTS games there is less lag than normal but I prefer to watch live More exciting, that way you watch it without knowing the outcome! I will micro manage but every now and then while a battle goes on I will sit back and relax for a minute then go back to managing again. Is what most experienced RTS-players do, I remember when I still played Age of empires I never watched the battle. I was always too busy replanting farms etc... Same for Age of Mythology. Now with EaW there is less economics to worry about and more battlefocus.
Mag Trinix
I will only use the cinimatic view when im possitive the battle has been won for me but i wont ever use it when my forces are engaging his fleet for the first time.
Givike
That's just the coolest part. What's awesome about seeing your fighters and ships sweeping up what's left of the enemy.
Darth_Extas
Very True the Cinematic Mode is being developed well....But lets get back on subject...In my opinion the pop cap and the size of the space/orbit map will not allow overcrowed. The main purpose of a Pop Cap is to stop overcroweding.

Just the amount of kills etc become the same. Not really, the one in StarCraft is strangely flawed. The only thing that's actually the same is the number of units you've created at the beginning. After that, the computer seems to calculate the probability of you gaining a victory. Apparently, I never win in the replays
xSiri_Tachix
I never really watched replays in Star Craft, but I watched a lot of them for Age of Mythology. If it is a casual game or single player I might set back and relax and play with the camera. If it’s a serious game that I want to win I micromanage myself to death AOE series should really be called the Age of Farming, because that’s what I did 90% of the time. If this game was made by Ensemble we would be moisture farming until the "Imperial" age. Hehe. AOE/AOM were and are good games, so don’t get me wrong.
