George got a few details wrong, but the basic impetus was all Wally's doing. Decades later, LFL clandestinely set up XWA as an unmarked shrine to the celestial dream dolphin who came in the night with the original inspiration for the mighty Lucas Empire. Wally was on the posting field in UBB code long before any hairy little hominids had a chance to drag their stench in along with the rest of the internet, and is the only member of the forum who has been involved in every post.
