jomaster Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 now in my opinion the clone wars novels are awesome although i've not read them all i haven't yet come across one that hasn't entertained me to the full what does everybody else think??
Prime Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I like most of them, and I am finding that they are more interesting and realistic than the NJO onward novels...
MachineCult Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I totally agree i haven't come across one that hasn't entertained me to the full either, I can't comment on the NJO though, I don't really agree with it.
boinga1 Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Most of the ones I read were decent, but I felt like Jedi Trial (by David Sherman and Dan Cragg) was pretty weak. Dialogue was a little odd, and overall it just didn't feel like the Clone Wars at all.
jomaster Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 yes i think the clone wars novels are better than the NJO ones but not by alot ok so whats everyones favourite clone wars novel??
Darth_Terros Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Yep the clone wars/prequel era books are the best so far far better than any of the NJO. Would labyrinth of evil count as a clone wars book?
jomaster Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 i would say my favourite has got to be either one from the medstar duology or dark rendezvous
Prime Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Either Shatterpoint or Labrynth of Evil for me...
swphreak Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Shatterpoint was an excellent book. The Republic Commando novel was excellent as well. I give the Clone Wars books two thumbs up.
General Solo Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I liked them, they were entense and exciting to read. And yea Shatterpoint and Republic Commando novels was really good. The Clone Wars novels were very exciting.
jomaster Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 wow seems everybody loves them what did every body think to 'the cestus deception'
montnoir Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I'm reading through "Shatterpoint" right now. It's fun to read from Mace Windu's perspective but the jungle trek is just boring and uninteresting and a complete waste of time, paper and words (I bet the writer got paid by word). I mean, why do I have to read 3 chapters about a bug who hatches from humanoid skulls and a pack animal aptly named "Ack" with six legs... give me a break! Oh and there are also some viewpoints expressed about war that just gave me the oh-so-currently-in-the-news "Republican excuse" vibe. What I mentioned above are some real low points of idiotic drivel the writer, probably, threw in 2 days before deadline, on the other hand, it has some exciting action scenes and of course Mace's perspective. It is an overall good (so far, as I'm not yet finished with it) but it could have been much, much better if given some time and an actual intelligent effort and thought from the writer.
jomaster Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 well i found the same with 'jedi healer' but u've just got to get through it and it'll all come together in the last quarter or so it'll be gripping just stick with it
MachineCult Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 montnoir, I advise you to carry on reading, the second half of the book is anything but boring. (It's the Grassers who have six legs not the Akk Dogs.)
Astrotoy7 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I deliberately avoided the CW era novels pre ROTS. Though I know what has happened in most of them now, I dont really plan on reading them. By the end of ROTS, the clone wars were over, so my interest in those books has waned. I might track down some of the comics though - theyre excellent from all reports, as well as the CG series of course mtfbwya
General Solo Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 their are comics for star wars?? I never knew that
