rimmer_1001
I got to 79% and the download crashed. Further attempts have spawned a "failed to connect to server" messege. Anyone else get this?

PygmyShrew
Its sometimes possible to continue DLs from IE's default downloader, Ive done it a few times, Im not sure what lets you continue but I find clicking the same link from the same site/ftp and doing it asap increases the chances Youve got to love Microsoft If you use a downloader like DAP or Star downloader it is a lot easier to continue 'broken' downloads. File planet have there own downloader thats very good, never had any problems with it, also lets you pause/continue.

Athanasios
http://www.speedbit.com/ You mean download accelerators i guess. My vote on DAP - it's simply the best out there, in many aspects.
rimmer_1001
Actually I use Opera browser that allows you to "resume" a download. Can't believe MS/IE has not caught on to such a simple "feature". Anyhoo, I got it elsewhere. Then I noticed I could resume this morning, D'OH!!! Admiral Sith
Not really, i use Opera to download all the time and if something inturrupts it it will only sometimes allow you to resume. The other times you click resume it starts from the beginning.
rimmer_1001
Well there is a restart or a resume option. I have never had an issue resuming, as I said after about 6 hours I was able to resume. But that was after I had downloaded it elsewhere, but that is Murphies Law for you. Download accelerators are full of spywares. Well known fact. As far as I know, there is none that is totally safe.

Be careful not to generalise Star downloader is one i found last week, its passed my spybot and xoftspy scans, great reviews, free and performs well. swphreak
Ok, if your download fails, it's not the demo's fault. You'll just have to download it again or whatever. Move along, move along.
