I have a small clothing company that prints shirts submitted by and voted on by the public. Joshi Posted February 18, 2006 Share Posted February 18, 2006 A couple of pixels won't be enough, the picture needs to be substantially changed in order to avoid copywrite issues. if I started selling a T-shirt with Mickey Mouse's head on a pike, I'd still have copywrite issues if it looked like Mickey, despite the fact that Disney have never commercially produced a picture like that. Stan on that t-shirt would have to be changed enough so that even if he bears a slight resemblance to the original Stan, it doesn't bear so much of a resemblance than LA could do anything about it and a decent lawyer could simply say "we never mentioned the word Stan or Monkey Island, you must be mistaken."
