jeffreyLebowski
This has most likely been asked before, but I've searched the forum, the manual, and played the tutorials and I'm still lost on this topic. How can I see what is stationed in orbit and on the ground on a hostile planet before I attack? So far, I've resorted to attacking, seeing what the enemy has and then attempting to retreat ASAP if it looks like I can't win. There's got to be a way to obtain some sort of information on enemy ground/space presence before invading... right? Or is this how the game is intended to be played? Err....it has never occured to you that C3PO can be used this fashion, as well as probe droids, if you actually did play the tutorials you would have known this. jeffreyLebowski
thanks smart ass. i have noticed that c3p0 can do this. however, in my experience he only reveals the number of enemy units, not what they are. i was referring to some sort of rebel counterpart to the probe droid. while i should have mentioned that i already knew about the imperial recon abilities, there's no need to be a dickweed about it. Hooray for Flaming! Anyway C3PO can be reused over and over again, while probe droids can only be used once, so the rebellion doesn't really need probe droids (smugglers may be capable of doing this as well, not sure), as you need C3PO to steal technology there is no point not using him to figure out enemy defenses before sending your fleets in With C3PO you get the strongest ship in the stack and how many ships there are in the stack, that enough for most folks to know what ships they will need (there will normally be a larger number of weaker ships and a smaller number of capital ships), if you are incapable of this, tough. Slocket
Just use a cheap rebel infrantry man to 'take one for the team' in space or on the raid slot. LOL
Jeff
@ jeffreyLebowski: There's no need for any of that. Yes, perhaps mikemil828 could have phrased his response a little better, but we do not tolerate any type of flaming here on the boards, including name-calling. Please read the Forum Guidelines if you haven't already.
BuCkEt!
In GC the rebs can use smugglers AND bounty hunters to identify the exact make up of an army defending a planet. However remember, some planets automatically kill minor heroes if they're sent there. Other planets also hide what type of army they have (ie Hoth/Dagobah). Cheech Marin
Just use a cheap rebel infrantry man to 'take one for the team' in space or on the raid slot. LOL You would make an excellent Imperial officer, my friend.
