Knights of the Old Republic: Shattered Allegiance

_________________________________________________________________

After the strict rule of Revan, Malak, his apprentice, was defeated and he soon sought another apprentice to whom he could channel the Force through and train.

"Turn on the turbo thrusters!" Lionel screamed at his astromech droid that was wheeling out of control around the floor behind his seat in the pilot cockpit.

The Droid managed to slide it's way to a control panel as two more engines lit up in the back of the ship, a smuggler ship 'Jettison 8'. The other female jedi walked up behind him and sat in the co-pilot's chair, strapping in. "Alright, lets get this trash compactor moving," she said calmly, her fingers dancing around the controls.

Lionel pressed a small blue button as a small joystick flicked out from the console. He took control of it as 'Manual Override' was heard overheard. He pulled up as three sith fighters appeared behind them, firing on them. Several shots blasting the shields, a rippling effect happening on the green pulsing field.

"Get to the laser turrets! I can't go into hyperspace with these bastards on our tail!" He said, just as a big blast hit one of the engines, knocking it out as he jolted forward, smashing his head onto the console. He was obviously not strapped in. He shook it off and wiped blood off of his busted lip and strapped himself in.

"Got the Cross of Glory in the Mandalorian Wars, and again in the Jedi Civil War. I don't think he'll turn on us." Said the Republic officer as he walked down the concrete hallway of the Republic prison. It was a cold and dark place located in the Corusant undercity. It was the Republics most secure prison.

I awoke to the sound of silence as usual taking a scan around my poorly lit cell. Concrete walls, one durasteel door, sink, bed, mirror and a hole in the corner. It has already been a couple years, and the isolation was starting to get to me. Day after day I would spend my time sleeping, eating, excercising, and then contemplate killing myself before I slept yet again. Atleast the droids would bring me a new book or holovid every other week, which allowed me to keep my sanity until now.

The faint noise of footsteps echoed outside my door. It was time to eat, that would give me something to do. There was a crack, and the my cell door screeched open. To my surprise it wasn't a group of combat droids holding a bowl of substandard food. Instead in the doorway stood two Republic officers, grinning at me. One held a document in his hands. Taking a glance at the heading it read, "Certificate of Pardon".

"Kedran Avadax, we have a proposition for you..."

-----------

"It's a deal, I'll do it. The Sith are a menace and I'd rather not spend the rest of my days in this prison." I replied to the officer.

"Very well. Hunt them, and kill as many as you can. Especially the two we specified. Do it for the Republic." The two officers turned around and headed out of the my cell, the door closing behind them. I studied the datapad he handed to me. It showed pictures and descriptions of the two I was suppose to go after specifically, then a bank account number. Minutes later the door opened once again, and a group of droids escorted me out. Relief and joy flooded in me, I would see the daylight once again. Only to bring darkness to those who deserve it.

Lilah Erron raced to the turrets half angry, half fearful. She didn't like the Jedi and she didn't like the Sith and that was why she left. She had left with her partner Lionel a gifted Force Adept. She took up position in the turrets and strapped herself into the seat and prepped for a bumpy ride. She relayed through the comm, "Turrets online and ready to go. All systems are go."

She then swivelled the turrets and began to target the nearest fighter. She opened up to a battle meld with Lionel and blasted away. She could read the frustration in Lionel's thoughts and sent an annoyed reassuring feeling. She continued to blast away and knocked out two of the three fighters that had been tailing them. She saw the third lurking towards the hyperdrive. She swung the turrets and with careful precision, she blasted until she got him. She then sent over the comm, "Our tail's free you can make the jump."

Meanwhile, in a deserted desert in Tattoine, Aven Kar crawled through the hot sands, searching for his target. He looked in his scope again, aiming his state-of-the-art sniper for where the runaway prisoner fled. This prisoner was a dangerous one. He was an ex-jedi who still kept his lightsaber so he would know the skills of a jedi. But the republic hired Aven to stop him before he could tell the secrets to the Dark Jedi. Aven didn't really care about that, as long as he gets his fine payment, 80,000 credits. He looked carefully through his scope..... Nothing.

Suddenly, he sensed something behind him. He jumped up, just as a purple lightsaber came flying right into the sand. Aven Kar backflipped so he was facing the prisoner, pulled out his lightsaber and stabbed it right through his back. The prisoner fell to the ground where Aven cut off his head and put it in his backpack. He turned on his jetpack and flew up into the Tattoine air, and quickly flew to the Republic prison, not too far from there.

"Here it is." Aven said and threw the dismembered head on the service desk. "Now where's my 80 grand?" The clerk took a sack of money and gave it to Aven. "Thank you for freeing the world of..uh.." The clerk looked at the paper on the desk. "Gan Fraden. But you have another assignment. " Aven looked at the paper that the clerk gave to him. It read....

Aven Kar,

I know that you are probably the best bounty hunter this galaxy has seen in a long time and the Republic needs you. Two enemies of the Republic, Lionel Derk, and Lilah Erron are on the run. But you won't be doing this alone. I have also summoned the help of a prisoner/former RCOF agent named Kedran Avadax. He is very powerful like you and with his loads of heavy weopons, and your sharp-shooting skills, you two will be able to fidn the enemies in no time.

He smirked and nodded Lets blow this joint He typed in a few keys and pulled back a rather large lever. The ship lurched like a beaten kitten into hyperspace. As the ship sailed through the sea of speed lights and a bluish tunnel, he unstrapped himself and headed to the turrets just as Lilah was getting down from them.

"Nice job out there.. Did they hit any internal systems?" He asked, walking past her and into the next room, checking his face in a small mirror. He was in the medical bay. He rubbed the spot a little with his right finger as his finger was engulfed in black twine as he moved it across the wound, sealing it up quickly with no residue.

"All systems are go thank you," Lilah responded. She was rather miffed with Lionel but then again, he wasn't always the best person to get along with. As if there were such a thing. She went to the cockpit rubbing a burn on her that she didn't notice until they jumped into hyperspace. She pulled out a salve and began to rub it in. As she rubbed, she felt as if she were rubbing memory back in and remembered why she decided to leave the Sith. She ignored everything around her and just sat in the copilot chair rubbing the salve in. She sighed and closed her eyes.

He walked back to the cockpit and leaned over her chair, folding his arms on the back. "I think that burn'll heal," he said, yawning a little and spinning her chair around as he walked around to his and sat down. "We'll be getting out of hyperspace in minutes, better get ready." He strapped himself in a typed a few buttons into the console.

Lilah opened her eyes and stopped rubbing. The burn was actually healing during that time she was meditating. She rolled her eyes as she strapped her crashwebbing on. She began to check the systems to make sure they were functional. She decided to play dumb and asked, "Where are we going again?"

Coronet, Corellia

"Why am I being rushed out of here?" Senator Gan Flask demanded angrily. "I was in the middle of a very important meeting! Is it an assassin?"

"One that scares us all, Sir," one of the security guards answered. "Annika Venn."

"Who?" the Senator snapped.

"Not technically an assassin," the guard replied. "Former Jedi, former Sith. Both sides hate her, but neither side will touch her. Republic can't touch her because she's too damn fast. She operates under her own ethical code. Apparently, you've violated it."

"How?" the Senator wanted to know. The guard to his left was decapitated and the guard to his right was stabbed through the heart, both injuries done by a hazy green lightsaber blade.

"Don't play a fool," Annika Venn told him. "You know very well how you've violated my sense of justice. You're a thief, a liar, and a traitor. Don't deny it."

"Traitor?" Flask gasped. "What?"

"The death of your predecessor was your doing," Annika told him. "You know it. Perhaps you regret it now, but that's understandable, seeing how you're about to die yourself. A more fitting candidate for Senator of Corellia will take your place."

Before Flask could say anything more, he felt a sharp burning sensation and gasped. Slowly, he looked down to where Annika's lightsaber had been driven through his heart.

"Justice has been given," she said softly. Then shouts alerted her to the fact she'd been seen. She demolished the nearest outside wall with the Force and leapt out, dropping onto the top of a passing tour bus. For a long second, she stayed lying there, grinning. Her timing had been perfect. Then, she sat up, putting up a hand to ward off at least a little of the wind caused by flying so fast. It was time to be moving. Using the Force to aid her jump, she landed atop a nearby building. After admiring the view for a second, she turned and made a series of leaps that brought her to the cantina where she'd get payed for what she'd done.

Nothing was better than serving justice than getting paid for doing so.

Aven sighed, walking around his ship, the Thorn. He walked over to the pilot's room. "Sev" Aven called the pilot's name and he turned around. "What is it, boss?" He asked.

"It says on the note that we are supposed to meet the RCOF guy at Alderron, where the stolen ship's course was headed to. The highest possibility is that they will be heading there. That will end them." After speaking to Sev, Aven walked back to the main room and sat down. He took out his sniper and opened it up. He took a special battery out from his backpack. A special weopon for a special kill... Aven thought and put the battery in.

"Prisoner 0959, here are your only possessions before imprisonment. Now, step unto the the turbolift platform. It will take you to the surface. After that you will be free to go." The droid barked. They unlocked my handcuffs and took them off. The droid then handed me a diamond shaped medallion, the only irreplaceable thing that I had ever owned. I put it around my neck with the medallion resting on my chest, and began to stroll down the concrete hallway, increasing my pace as I went. I've had enough of this prison and wanted to get out.

A bright light filled the turbolift as the doors opened. It temporarily blinded me, and took me a moment to adjust. Showing the effects of spending years in a cold dark prison cell. I recognized the sorroundings immediately, the Corusant slums. My old hideout was in this area, hopefully I could remember the code.

I stood infront of the doorway for about 3 minutes trying to remember the code. Finally the door opened up. The room was pitch black as a I walked in, the lights came on bringing a grin on my face. Along the walls were all the weapons and gear I would need. There was a chest of red lightsabers on the floor, my souvenirs of the war. Though it was best not to take one with me, they're for chumps anyways. I changed out of my blue prison uniform, and put on more fitting "work" attire. Combat gear and boots, along with a long black coat. Good for carrying many weapons. Then finally I strapped on high quality medium armor around my body.

After an hour of getting ready. Packing various grenades, and all my other gear, there was no more point in staying any longer. I wanted to get started right away. Jump back into action, I've waited long enough. Before leaving, I disassembled the aratech sniper rifle and placed the parts inside a large case. In the corner of my eye, I spotted something as I walked out. Another datapad laying on the floor. Must have missed it on the way in. This weapons stash was my secret, wonder how those Republic officers found out and planted the datapad inside.

"Hello Kedran. Now that you're fully suited up, we will fill you in more. You are to go to Corellia and team up with a very skilled bounty hunter. The Sith are wreaking havoc and we need all the help we can get. Not to worry, you can trust this one, we've paid him well. A ship just for you is waiting at Dock 357AC3. Remember, if you try to make a run for it, we will have our agents and bounty hunters on your tail before you know it. Maybe even Jedi, if we can persuade them to. Do not waste time."

"Great, bounty hunter scum." I said to myself and headed out the door.

He typed in a few keys into the console as the ship jolted out of Hyperspace in the Corellian system. "Corellia, that planet is swarming with life, the Force. There would be no way for a Force Sensitive to track us, Dark Jedi, that is," he said, turning to look at her. "Are you alright? You seem.. distant.." He spoke, the ship slowly being dragged down into the atmospere of the planet.

Annika entered the cantina and went directly to a table in a dark corner. A small creature sat there completely covered in a black cloth. A burly human male sat next to it, acting as a bodyguard and announcer. The man glared at Annika for a moment before saying, "Annika Venn."

"Ah, Annika," a strange voice croaked from beneath the cloth. "Had you failed, you would not have returned. Gerrod, transfer her payment."

Gerrod glared at Annika again before taking out a small device and playing with it for several seconds. "Done," he said. Annika took a tiny chip from her belt and glanced at the reading. She nodded.

"Good," she said. "Should you require any other jobs, you know how to contact me."

"I also know your code of honor," the creature replied. "You wouldn't want any of my other jobs now."

"It's for those jobs I've considered killing you," Annika said. "But you pay well and even a Keeper of Justice must have money. If you have any more good work, don't hesitate to call me."

"You are done," Gerrod snapped. Annika smirked and nodded. Then, she rose and left the cantina.

As Ave landed on Corellia, he looked around. "No sight of the RCOF guy. But man, this is gonna be annoying." Ave sat down and started wiping his scope, waiting for Kedran. He looked through the scope. "Good.." He said to himself. He aimed in the distance. "Might as well test out the new battery without the scope." He said and fired.

"AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Ave heard a scream followed by many others. "The cantina must be near." He said and headed to the place he shot. When he got there, he saw a small creature covered with black cloth on the floor dead, with many people standing around him. "I didn't do it." Ave said and walked over his dead body to get to the other side.

Lilah was rather annoyed but wary of the question, "I'm fine it's that I'm tired of the dark Jedi and the light Jedi. I'm not backing out on my decision. Well, I feel that there is no dark or light. Bah, I'm just thinking. Such thoughts are unbecoming."

She turned to her consol and said, "I'm uploading the approach vector to the slums of Correlia. That'll do for now."

She was not anxious to voice her thoughts and she cursed herself for revealling a potential weakness that could be used against her. While Lionel had been her partner, she never fully trusted him or trusted anyone. Too long it had been with the Sith. Too long.

Annika was heading back to her ship when she sensed Force users nearby. "Not unusual," she murmured thoughtfully. But here, something was different. A small, beat up cargo hauler flew overhead toward the slums. That was unusual. Annika knew that such a ship was generally flown by autopilot and left unmanned. Curious, she headed in that direction. A few moments later, she stood, back against a wall, staring at the hauler and waiting for someone to leave it.

The ride to Corellia was peaceful on the junker ship that they provided me with. I made a mental note to steal or buy a better one as soon as I got the chance. Finally the ship touched down at the docks and I gathered my things and left. Unfortunately Corellia was a planet, and it would be difficult to find this bounty hunter. Perhaps they meant it so he would find me. Before I excited the docks I made a quick stop at the refresher. It had been a while since I've been able to use a decent toilet. As opposed to a hole in the corner.

A man soon entered the refreshing room dressed in regular civillian attire. He blocked the doorway to get out, and it seemed like it wouldn't be moving.

"Hello Kedran, I am aware of your release and I am going to avenge my masters death." Oh great, a Dark Jedi. Atleast this would get the blood flowing again. It has been a while since I killed one of their kind. Good thing this one was making it conveinient and making it so I didn't have to do the hunting.

He drew his red lightsaber as I dropped the sniper rifle case to the ground. It would be foolish for me to draw blasters in such a small space. The infidel would probably be able to deflect the shots anways. I would have to engage him hand to hand. He shot his force lightning at me, but my reflexes allowed me to roll out of the way. He swung at me back and forth with the lightsaber, but wasn't quick enough. I was able to dodge every blow that he attempted to strike at me. Every time he missed I was able to score a punch or kick in, wearing him down. Finally in a desperate attempt to finish me off, he attempted a poorly placed one-handed overhand strike. Which allowed me to grab his hand, making him unable to use his lightsaber. He struggled with my superior strength, thanks to the implant and years of boredom in prison. Then in a final blow, I ejected my armblade with my right hand and buried the blade upwards into the man's neck. His body went limp and fell the the floor. Another servant of the darkness is dead, and the galaxy a step safer now.

"One down, thousands to go." I said outloud, while reaching down to pick up his lightsaber. It made me chuckle a bit, another lightsaber to add to my collection always brought joy to me. Better get out before anybody sees, so I picked up my sniper rifle case and headed out unto the streets of Corellia in search of the bounty hunter.

(sorry for the long posts, still introducing my character in a way)

The ship slowly landed on the platform. Lionel was hesitant to get out because of his assumption, but he decided to anyway. He grabbed his beat-up jet-black robe and slipped it on, walking out onto the boarding ramp and walking onto the pavement as several small droids slid to the ship and began repairs. He took a deep breath of the Corellian air. He coughed a little, finally smelling and breathing fresh air from the difference of the spice and moldy smell and air of the Cargo Hauler.

He waited for his Lilah to appear beside him. He knew something was going to happen here, but he wanted to stave it off for as long as possible.

"Nice ship," Annika called to the young man who'd just came out of the hauler. She pushed herself off the wall and walked toward him. "A little suspicious as a hauler like that would generally be unmanned and would not come to a place like Coronet, even the slums."

She smiled slightly. "All in all, though, a nice ship... could use some repairs, I see. So you're running from something." She eyed the young man critically. "Based on appearance, I'd say you're running from Sith, yes? You left them, right?"

Then, Annika's grin widened. "And you've brought a friend. How lovely." Still, she had made no move for her lightsaber, though it was in plain view hanging from her belt. "So what made you two run? I'm sure it's a quite interesting story, but this is really no place to talk. If I know the Sith, they're after you like a starved kath hound. Follow me."

She spun on one heel and stalked away from the hauler. Several feet away, she turned, seeming slightly impatient. "I know what you must be thinking. No, I'm not here to kill you. Come along. We'll have a chat in a safer area."

Hesitant to reach for his lightsaber, he slowly followed, Lilah following in suit. "Make one false move and i'll strike you down, stranger," he said, following her.

"One question. How did you know that, and who are you working for..Jedi?" (As in calling her a Jedi, not asking her who she's with)
