I have some big problems with this game. Even though I have tried it on low graphics like 800x600 the game runs realy slow, some times it can takes like 1min for the meny screen to show. I can´t even get past the creation of my Jedi so I can´t even play the game. My systems specs are:

AMD Opteron 170 (Dual Core) 2,9Ghz

1024Mb ram

35gb free speca for swapfile

Asus 6800 Ultra 256mb

Lates Nvidia drivers

Latest windows uppdates

I have tried to just let the game run on one core but it doesn´t help. I realy would like to get this game to work because I played the first one and just loved it.

BTW I´m playing SWKotOR2 if some one didn´t get that.

Well now I have unistalled the game to try a reinstall but if that don´t work and I need to clock my processor back to stock speed I won´t play it. BTW I have never ever had or heard that a game will have trouble running under a overclocked PC and for the speed I can get higher but I need to take of the IHS but I´m to lazy to do that right now.

There is a problem with dual core proc and Nvidia drivers. In the 8X.XX driver release they added support for dual core, and ever since KOTOR won't work at all, or will work at very low framerates.

I have a dual core X2 4400+, OC to 2.8Ghz and i had the same problem. Until recently, i fixed the problem by modifying the boot.ini (i added /numproc=1 to make windows use only one core). But there's no need to do that anymore, because Nvidia released a BETA driver that fixes the problem completley. You can download the driver here: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_rel70betadriver.html.

If this driver doesn't fix your problem, then there's something else wrong with your game. If you already tried these drivers and they didn't fix your problem, try the boot.ini trick.

Edit: Here's a change log for 84.12 drivers:

Overclocked CPU might actually be the problem here. Some games just don't like OC. I know i had a lot of problems with some games (not all), when i OCed my CPU to 2.9 ghz (it won't go any higher than that). I don't have any problems at 2.8ghz though.

I will try that. Nove I have goten to a point where I can´t even play. It´s in the begining when you are on the ship that dockes with the station and the woman that are with you runs away to fight that Sith dude. I get stuck all the time and they jump from one side of the room to the other all the time so I can´t even complete it to go somwhere else LOL

Hope it works with lower speed on the CPU, because know when I played some more I just starting to rember how it was to play: SWKotOR 1 and wich skills and forces that are the best ones :D

The creating stuff in this game is much bether also, alot more to create. I like that, I´m going to check out some guides but not until I get the game to run as I wan´t or else I will go crazy over not being able to play this great game.
