dede_frost Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 I've been playing this game mp for quite a while now, and I noticed that most large ships (all the way from Nebulon-b Frigates to ISDs) take A LOT of damage from asteroids while moving in them. I'm ok with that, since you can use fighters to lure enemy ships into asteroids (that's an awesome tactic for destroying a lonely Piet with Solo), but I found 1 problem: I don't think fighters take any damage or anything from asteroids. I know that fighters can manuver trough the asteroids better, but in the ESB, I'm pretty sure I see like 3 Ties being destrouyed in the asteroid field. If there are any Petrogliph ppl in the crowd, plz consider this being in a future patch (nothing major, I know you have much bigger issues). You would be losing ships on an astronomical scale in a seriously short amount of time. Also in ESB the asteroid belt wasn't as static as the asteroid fields in the game. gswift Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 You can make any ship take asteroid damage by changing the xml files named "Spaceunits_____" where the ____ is either capital, corvettes, or fighters. You just add the property "ASTEROID_FIELD_DAMAGE" in the <SpaceBehavior> xml tag. The capial ships already have that property set. Second, I would like it so it's not like cap ships, but if they, sometimes, lost 1 of the fighters in the squadron to a random asteroid, like every 2 min in the asteroid field = 1 fighter lost?
