BongoBob Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 That's pretty cool, the batman one is just insane.
Samuel Dravis Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Those are cool. I've seen a couple like it on the sidewalk, but nothing so complex (the effect is actually fairly easy to obtain if you know how to do it).
MrWally Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 hahaha... wow... the funny thing is that I JUST got these pictures in an email from my friend yesterday. It's insane, isn't it?
Sabretooth Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Yeah, I had seen those, but at a different site I found with Firefox StumbleUpon. I hadn't seen a lot of them, though. The Batman, Spiderman and Peace were ueber.
TiE23 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 That Batman one is pretty mind boggling. Very cool.
Rexíos Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Damn, nice! The Pool one was insane.. It justs gives me headaches trying to make out how they were drawn..
IG-64 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Damn, nice! The Pool one was insane.. It justs gives me headaches trying to make out how they were drawn.. I dunno how he did it but I would paint it flat on a canvas first then set up the painting at the right angle and use a long stick or something to project the edges onto the pavement. He, however may have done it by eye.
Rexíos Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Yeah, thats what gave me the headache, so complex.. Wonder if any civillians got fooled by it.
Samuel Dravis Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Basically how they're done is simple. You have a normal perspective picture or base image. Now take that and overlay a grid on top of it. Now warp the grid's y value however much is necessary (depends on the angle you want people to be able to see it at), warp the the rectangle grid into some kind of trapezoid (also depends on the angle) and then draw it on the pavement - it takes a bit of work, but not that much.
