Daniel333
Who Thinks eaw is ufair because rebels have a puny force against the empire but the empire has atats, star destroyers, not to forget the deathstar, it can win an entire land battle without even doing it. so l think that eaw is unfair. l just brought this up but its in a way a good thing for me because all l be is the empire so cool
ScorLibran
[...] the empire has atats, star destroyers, not to forget the deathstar [...] ...and the Rebellion has Plex Soldiers/Air Speeders, Mon Cal Cruisers/Y-Wing Bombers and Red Squadron. I think it's pretty well-balanced overall, but the advantages in space do swing back and forth as you go up the tech tree. Granted, each side does not tech up at the same time, but in campaigns and most SP conquests they're generally very close to each other. The Rebellion, in my opinion, always has a slight advantage on land, though, with Plex Soldiers (to deal with practically any vehicle or structure) at tech 1, MPTL artillery (which is better than the Empire's SPMA-T) at tech 2 and the T4B tank (which tears apart 2-M Repulsors - and almost any other vehicle) at tech 3. Tech 4 is more of a challenge, when the Empire gets AT-ATs, but Plex Soldiers deal with them quite efficiently, and the heavy walkers can't target infantry very well so most of them survive the time it takes to bring one down. Of course the Rebellion gets Air Speeders at tech 4 to deal with them, too. In space, at tech 1, Rebels are better because the Nebulon-B > Acclamator and the Corellian Corvette > Tartan Cruiser. Plus the Rebels get Y-Wings right off the bat. At tech 2, the advantage goes to the Empire with the Victory heavy frigate, which owns the Nebulon. It still has to be wary of Y-Wings, but just be vigilant about putting your Tartan corvettes in between them and your frigates. (And conversely, as the Rebellion make sure you blow up the Empire's corvettes before moving your bombers up to the front lines.) At tech 3, the Rebels get a boost with the Assault Frigate MkII, which levels the playing field against the Victory. Then at tech 4 Empire players get excited about getting the ISD, but remember that the Rebellion also gets the superior Mon Cal. Then there's the Death Star for the Empire at tech 5, but the Rebellion has only to win the space battle involving the Death Star and keep Red Squadron alive, at which point the Death Star automatically goes boom. Darth Alec
Rebels have too much of an advantage, simply because of three things, raid fleets, speeders, and the biggie, ARTILLERY............. Hate the MPTL........
popcorn2008
I think the game balances itself out nicely. But the Rebels do have many advantages, such as Raid fleets and their artillary. But if used strategically each team can win. You just have to know what your doing. Instead of using autoresolve, if you do, or instead of building a semi big force and just moving them all in, use the advantage and disadvantage system. Just hold you mouse over a unit and then look at what it is good against and make sure you arent fighting something its bad against. If the unit you wish to attack isnt on the list then it should be an even match. Though always use common sense when attacking. Use your instincts. Guest DarthMaulUK
The rebels do ok. Only today, I was screaming at the game because my 4 2M Tanks were taken out by....wait for it..... a unit of plex soldiers! Ive seen alot of strange things around the galaxy but I never saw anything like a mass 92 squadrons of A-Wings destroying my 5 ISDs. Sometimes, I can hear the AI grind to a hault it seems. Still, some battles are fun but the pop cap in combat does need to be raised..doubled in fact DMUK
†Saint_Killa†
Rebel ships have shield powerup ability so they won't get destoyed easily and they almost match up to Imperial ships health if you use it at the right time. And most of the reason it's balanced is already stated above.
wedge2211
Besides, the Rebellion is supposed to be undermanned and underequipped compared to the Galactic Empire.
Darth Alec
But they are not, they actually are slightly better.
wuyanxu
what i think is unbalanced is that rebels has to build fighters instead of just a few capital ships and press Ctrl + A and click on the bombers. apart from that, it's very balanced. popcorn2008
I do have to agree with you wuyanxu, I don't like the way the fighter system works for rebellion. Because I have to spend money on fighters I never really make X-wings or A-wings and I only make Y-Wings for the bombing runs. The imperials dont have to worry because they get fighters with their ships. I don't like that balance.
