Malock
Hi. I would like to know how to get UV map from model I want to reskin. I am not familiar with 3D modeling, but I know some photoshop tricks. Now, I know there is a guide for this written by svösh, but I can't understand some things in it. My english is not as good as i would like. I will refer to this thread. First part is about KT, or at least I think so, because no other tools are mentioned: First make sure you have mdlops in your KT dir (...) To simplify the skinning process first extract the model. Done If it’s a multi part model weld it all so it is all joined then go to the modifiers tab [bent tube] tab in the right side and click the drop down to get the different modifiers find the unwrap uvw modifier now hit the [EDIT] button and voila. Ok, here my problem starts (I didn't go far, did I?) - pretty long sentence without punctuation. So first, I should do this in KT or should i use mdlops? How to weld it? Second, I don't see modifiers tab ('bent tube' tab) anywhere. I'm stuck here, but the rest of guide seems pretty clear, so if someone could aid me with above i think I could go through the rest on my own. Darkkender
Is this a default model or one that you have made yourself? If it is a default model then all you will need to do is go to the texture files in KT. Find your texture and retexture it. If your working with a model you have made you may want to mention wich 3d modeling program you are trying to use so that they can give you further direction. Malock
It's the default model, and I already retextured it. BUT there are some places that don't look exactly how I want them to look, where different parts of texture come together (conflicting areas). That is why I need UV map. Darkkender
If its the default lightsaber model it has been readily agreed upon around here that the UV map sucks. I think seprithro had created a new UV map for the default model you may want to search the forums for posts by "Seprithro" or relating to Lightsabers. That is assuming it is a lightsaber your trying to retexture.
Malock
It's head model. I already completed the game playing Light Side and started again as darksider. But there was no head that I would like, so decided to make reskin. Here is preview. I gave this guy clean shave, corrected eyebrows, lips and nose, than I made DS transitions (only 2 here, but now I know how to do more so there will be 4 in final version). It may seem that it looks pretty good, but there are areas that I am not satisfied with. Particularly where neck connects with the chin, and around the ear. [EDIT] Ok, nvm, got it. Darth333
Very nice indeed. Hope you are planning to release this to the public
Malock
Well, if you like it I will release it. I don't see any reason why I should kep it for myself. But you will have to wait, because I have opportunity to take a break from my everyday job, and I would like to spend next week with my family. This head is done, but I want to make portraits. I could reskin more heads if you like. I can start working on them next wednesday. By next friday you should have complete 'male head reskin pack'. In the meantime you can post your ideas here, maybe I'll use some of them.
Achilles
JACKPOT!! Whatever you want to make will be great I'm sure, but if you're taking requests, may I recommend a few more with facial hair. Nothing says "Jedi" like a beard.

Jackel
JACKPOT!! Whatever you want to make will be great I'm sure, but if you're taking requests, may I recommend a few more with facial hair. Nothing says "Jedi" like a beard. And nothing says Sith like a goatee! *strokes his goatee* Even if I only play at LSers Goatees still look cool on the right face. Malock: I would suggest making these as new selectable heads. This way people can have both the old and new without having to remove your mod. And as those skins look cool already I for one wouldnt want to remove this mod.

If you need any help on this there is a tutorial that I wrote on the subject in the Tutorials section and you can also send me a PM for further help on this if something doesn't work right.
