crisjudigo Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Hey guys, as you know I am trying to get a matchmaking service started for JK DF2. I am working on it at my website. Well, anyways I am having troubles setting it up just like the zone. Where someone clicks a room, and then can launch the game from inside of the room bringing any clients connected to the room with him. If you know how this is done, or are good at coding and can help out, please let me know!
dtriniman Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Why don't you just look at the code from Zone to get an idea on how to do it?
crisjudigo Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Whenever you have the zone lobby pop up, you cant right click or view its source... so i cant look at it
acdcfanbill Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 well if your in firefox, u can goto view -> page source or hit Ctrl+U
crisjudigo Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 They wont allow you to log into zone lobbies with firefox.
EAH_XxHeReTiKxX Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Silly people! Zone.com uses ActiveX and Javascript to launch their Lobby Client from their website. The actual lobby system of chat/tables/launching is all DirectPlay / DirectPlayLobby architecture. In case you don't know buddy, HTML is basically a visual scripting language for the web. It has no "programming" capabilities like the ones that would be needed for something along the lines of what you are thinking. Oh yeah - you can't get a program's source just by viewing the page source code. ReT
