Nitro Posted October 21, 2001 Posted October 21, 2001 It's not an entirely happy ending, although a better one that I'd been expecting after all that's happened... She's under a lot of stress and in a lot of emotional pain because of her past, and she's still in love with her ex. After waiting for more than 6 months for her, and seeing her only slip further and further into her personal hell, I realized that I was doing more damage by trying to be more than a friend to her. She needs more time than I can give her without me going through an emotional breakdown, and we decided that we would be better off as friends. Yes, we decided... I love her too much to try to change her. After the events of the past two weeks, I honestly expected her to never talk to me again, and apparently she expected the same reaction from me, so the fact that we're still friends after it all is a pretty good deal. I wish it could of turned out differently, but it didn't, and we're making the best of a situation we both thought was FUBAR (ask me if you don't know what that means). I figured this should be in it's own thread, because it's the end of the saga of my first true love. I swore I wouldn't look back on it, because I know if I do, that I couldn't handle seeing her every day. The End
