Stealth Posted May 23, 2001 Share Posted May 23, 2001 Myself i prefer the Rc5 project at distributed.net , least you don`t waste a bunch of cpu cycles updating that screen thing. Plus there is a possiblity of winning some cash. In this the amd durron and up series kick ass compared to a similar speed Intel cpu. With intels pure speed makes the only difference, except for P4`s they suck for now. The K6/k5 series amd just suck too (the cpu doesn`t have a rotate function in it) But then if you want to do some work towards cancer research and stuff like that www.ud.com is a place you can go, they use something similar to seti app. You can win daily/wkly/monthly prizes there too. They use some wierd way of calculating your points for completed work based on your hardware compared to a high end outfitted P4 system times the time it took to do the work.
