Xbox 360 Price Drop This Xmas

Well, that's the big problem with the next generation. Much like a big special effects movie (i.e. Star Wars) you need a lot of time and ressources to achieve great visuals, and that's exactly what's happening with Sony right now.

Bigger artists teams = Bigger budgets = Steeper price

I agree with that, but:

PS3 = Way too expensive

Games = Way too expensive

Sony = Gauging fanboys out the ass

I know there's a steeper price, but it just seems like they would've been much better off if they had just set it to the 360 price, or even 65 bucks.

I read an an interesting comment recently that music and video are being rejuvanated by the fact they are becoming more accessible and people can remix and spread their own versions that they mixed in their bedrooms... whereas games used to be made by people in their bedrooms... but are now becoming so expensive and complex that they need billions of dollars and huge teams and resource.

(and therefore publishers won't take risks and we get retreads and sequels.)

Someone needs to come up with a way to let regular gamers remix games in their bedroom and then spread them on xbox live or something. Not just tiny mods, but full scale remixes.

(even mods are too big a project to get finished these days.. did that project to port JK to JO ever get finished.. or are they still working on it even though JO is now almost as out of date as JK?)

I have a feeling the 360 prices are not going to drop. With the PS3 price announced, Microsoft is just happy to keep the price the same for a while longer yet.

Plus, I remember reading on Joystiq that Microsoft said they're not dropping the price any time soon.

I would be willing to make my own Super Nintendo games for the Nintendo Virtual Console.
