KingCheez
So let's all work together to make a big conspiracy about Psychonauts, a possible sequel, and Tim Schafer's next game. Please keep this thread on-topic, stupid posts like 'lol, sasha iz total hotty' will be ignored and should not be replied to. First of all, the ending leaves things wide open. That's hint 1. Another one is Tim Schafer would kill a bear for his new game according to a newspost. You kill lots of bears in your stay at Whispering Rock, I'd assume. Hint three: he would carve the new game in his chest with a broken glass bottle. You can also carve it in a tree. What do some kids do at camp? Carve them and their sweetheart's initials in a tree. I don't get where the books on strange creatures fits in: it doesn't. Unless we're going through the strange wilderness of the Psychonauts world, a nature freak's mind, or otherwise, this could be a hint against a sequel. Theories? Ideas? Disprovements? DarthAve
Well, they said that they would only do a sequal if it got good sales. Yeah the sales were crap here, but I think they were a lot better in Europe, or so I've heard.
Poopdogjr
I too have been trying to figure out what the next Double Fine game is going to be about. I couldn't really come up with anything. I really do hope we get a sequel though. It doesn't have to be their next game per se, I could understand them wanting to do something that might have a better chance of making them money. But someday a sequel would be nice. Rant: I have gotten into 3 games that I LOVED, and totally deserve sequels, but sold very poorly. Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Beyond Good and Evil, and Psychonauts. These are right there along with Halo as my favorite games of this console gen. But, Halo got the attention it deserved. (Which depending on how you look at it could be a good thing or a bad thing. I hate playing with lots of the freaks/racists/jerks/underage kids out there on LIVE, but I LOOVE the game.) It just sucks that these other great games get so passed over by people. Hell, I looked at all of them myself and passed too. And now, I feel like an idiot for doing so. But, there is just too much crap coming out now. The good stuff just gets lost in the sea of medicore junk. And now I realize that I'm ranting, sooo I apologize. Anyways, yes here's hoping for a Psychonauts 2. And hoping it sells so much, that double fine can install a vault to hold the money while they all can swim in it like Scrooge Mcduck in Duck Tales. .. and a Beyond Good and Evil 2, and Metal Arms 2. P.P.S. Sorry, I know you said no off topic stuff. I just had to get that off my chest.
Smon
I know they're making a Psychonauts 2... in the FUCHUR. Where cars fly and people don't drive them! Knowing Schafer he's not working on a Psychonauts 2 yet, but definitely something unique.
Miss_Mayhem
Yes, ther is hint one as Kingcheez mentioned, but it helps if you look at all the games that Tim has made in a general sense. Grim Fandango and the black velvetopia level in Psychonauts are both based around a type of art (the paper machie and the velvet art), so it hints that Tim Shafer's next game might be very art-oriented. Who knows, the levels could consist of paintings or something. It's just a thoery, though I don't know how Psychonauts could fit in. Tim says that videogames should be wish fulfillments. Another clue, another shoe that Psychonauts fills (who hasn't wanted to be psychic?). 00h,Time-travel! Tim would love to do that for sure. So, time-travel and art is what I'll put on the table. Smon
Wish fulfillment? Quickly! Google search the site for "wish"! ... Something about sea monkies and warts... maybe an underwater amphibious adventure?
KingCheez
There was an actually very small focus on Dogen and his 'powerful brain.' It seemed to be the first one that worked in the brain tank, as we can see from Dr. Loboto's excitement in it, maybe because of all the rage Dogen had inside? Either way, this could've made the game a lot longer if we focused on that - maybe in the sequel?
DarthAve
They could be pulling a LucasArts and create a game for only one character. They did that Obi-Wan game and their doing a Darth Vader game. Why not do a Sasha or Lili game?
KingCheez
Or, as hinted, a Dogen game. I think with a change of wardrobe and growing a neck, Dogen could be pretty badass. But we don't want that. We want the same quirky weirdo characters who have sudden flashes of badass-ness. I HOPE YOU'RE READING THIS TIM

If you noticed, Dogan is the only camp kid (aside from Raz, Lili & Bobby) that got his own page of concept art. He is apperantly still able to blow some things up (the squirrels) through his hat, Milla commented on his powerful abilities, and he has an ancestor that was a famous psychonaut. Check the tiki-poles in the campfire area up close and you will see --- Boole. I asked a friend of FF about this, but she thinks it just cuz he's uber cute. I'd still say it wouldn't be a Dogan, more of a Sasha or Oleander. OR EVEN LOBOTO! Say he survived the whole falling and explosion thing, imagine the terror he could make! MWAHAHA!! Mashi An'krekku
Why not do a ... Lili game? PSYCHONAUTS 2: LILI'S BOGUS JOURNEY SOUNDTRACK BY PORTISHEAD.
DarthAve
PSYCHONAUTS 2: LILI'S BOGUS JOURNEY SOUNDTRACK BY PORTISHEAD. I never exactly said that. I'd much rather have a Milla game, cause you could live the awkward sexual tension between her and Sasha. They may ever, dare I say, KISS!!! Miss_Mayhem
Or a prequel! it could further flesh out the Aquato curse set upon them by those effin' Galochio's, who broke (and how) Ford Cruller's mind, and center around Milla and Sasha, following the "Milla's Adventure's' memory reel. I'm actually using that exact premisis for my more story-oriented fanfic 'Illusive Insanity'.
DarthAve
And we could live Sasha's awkward mind reading moment with his father! ~bow chicka wow wow~
KingCheez
IF I recall, Ford mentioned nothing about the man he psychic-dueled being the Galochios or related to them in any way.

pyrohappygirl
Psychonauts 2- It could focus on rescuing truman. Would it live up to my fanfic? Would it be the best thing ever? Would it *gasp* surpass the original? I think it would. Especially if there was a level about Lili. Or Dogen. Or another Sasha thing. Hehe. I think that if there is a psychonauts 2, it would be about Truman's rescue.
