Star Wars collections

Recommended Posts

Dunno if this thread has been done before; I searched "collection" but nothing alike came out (at least in the KotOR section), so I give it a try.

What Star Wars stuffs do you collect? Lego Star Wars, posters, mini figures... and to what extent do you collect? Do you possess almost every single model of SW Lego? And every single piece of poster ever officially/ unofficially published?

Personally I'm quite interested in posters and Lego. But there're loads of posters out there and Legos are expensive. So I think I'll start with one/two posters that I really like and a few sets of Legos. The posters I'm talking about is the one with R2D2 and C3PO opening a concert and the one depicting a cantina, with captions like "A galaxy of scum". For Legos, I've started with the Millenium Falcon, X-Wing (Luke and Yoda on the swamp) and the TIE fighter set.

I have almost the entire series of 7" Unleashed figures, only missing Han Solo, Yoda, Stormtrooper, Vader without the helmet, Ep 2 Anakin and IG-88.

I collect the figures as well. Dont have nearly all of them though.

I've also just recently started collecting the comics too.

Of course I have all the movies on DVD and the OT on VHS

Heh, I used to have most of the figures from 1978-1982 era. I had the Millenium Falcon, Slave I, and...well, I think I had the AT-ST as well. Been so long that I can't remember the exact inventory of loot. The Millenium Falcon had plenty of duels with the GI Joe F-14, and the Slave I usually fell to the depredations of the toy Viper I had from Battlestar Galactica. Transformers and GoBots generally got the better of Bossk and Boba Fett during the ambushes, IIRC. And more than a few of those little plastic guys met their jihad-esque ends after being taped to bottle rockets. *sigh* If only I'd just left them in their packages I could probably put my kid through college now. I honestly have no idea what happened to all that stuff...probably given away to smaller kids in the neighborhood.

And yeah, I've got all the movies on DVD (inc. Clone Wars animation thing), all the old ones on VHS somewhere in storage, as well as most of the EU books and character/location/device guides. My wife got me a Darth Vader potato head thing for my birthday last year, too. http://www.darthtater.net/

OMG, that sounds almost like this recurring skit that appeared on the show "Fridays" (a comedy show kind of like SNL). Michael Richards (of Seinfeld fame) played this kid who would have little wars with his GI Joes and those little plastic army soldiers. Except his wars got a little, well, crazy, and involved things like plastic explosives, cutting the heads off of his sister's Barbie dolls, setting the little plastic trees on fire, exploding volcanoes with simulated smoke and lava, and other general ridiculous craziness.

I've got to go see if I can buy a copy of Fridays now.... :D

And, to go back on topic,

I have a little collection of posters and a set of RoTJ Topps cards along with a few other things.

My philosophy on collecting items--buy what you like and don't worry about making a ton of money. If you've got a collection, you may as well enjoy it.

I have about 300 packaged Star wars action figures dating from 1994-2004 (Includes Mail-A-Ways). I also have about 100+ loose Star Wars figures from 1979 - 1990 (Vintage), I have about 200 miscelanious comicbooks (Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman, Spiderman, Ghost Rider, and X-Men). 2,000 game cards (Magic, Star wars, Ghost Rider. etc...).

I stopped collecting around 2000, but people keep giving me Star Wars stuff. It maybe because of what end of the advertising industry I worked in.

I ended up getting a 'Wizard-Comics #0 - Boba Fett' comicbook signed by artist and writter for free. A friend dropped it on my desk, and said, "Here you go." He managed to get eight of them. I lucked out.

I have signed Star Wars double-sided movie posters from their Graphic Designer. This was an accident. I did some design work for Hasbro about three years ago, and by chance got them for my work.

I have some old figured from when me and my friends would play with them, and then I have a couple from episode I and 2 from episode III. So in total I probably have about 20 or so. My most prized is the darth vader 500th figure, still in the box.
