Guest Tie Guy
he most certainly wasn't, but that doesn't mean you can flame him. That is his opinion, and you can disagree and argue with him about it all you want, but don't flame him, thats not any better than what he is doing. Guest James
If you mean StarCraft style when saying SC style I am afraid it kinda contradicts (spelling?) what you said. You complained about flamethrowing guys taking out buildings? FireBat in SC does the same thing. Also a marine with a GUN shooting down a giant flying battlecruiser? I don't think many ppl care about how realistic a game is, if it is fun and gives challenge, then who cares if a it isn't too realistic.
JediMasterEd
i totally agree with James. it really doesn't matter about if a marine can take down the mammoth battlecruiser, its the fun it gives you the will to play the game. that's what makes the game GB so fun. though i do think that they should balance the units, it's a good game. everyone has their own opinion about the game. Can't we all just, GET ALONG?!?!?!
cossack1812
Come on guys this i a forum, dont flame the guy just cos he's opinoin differs from yours, this isnt YOUR forum I like the game but i have to admit it didnt blow me away like i expect JKO to. Face it ppl, there hasnt really been a top selling Star Wars game since Jedi Knight But like i said, tis only my opinion
Guest starmonkey
I first started up the single player mission and saw the rebel trooper's goofy run I was not impressed. At first glance the graphics did not seem as good as aok's but after playing multiplayer with the different buildings and units I began to enjoy the game more and more. The graphics overall are pretty nice and the game is a lot of fun. Like in any game there is always a unit or two that does not look as good as the rest but really a game is not just about graphics. Gameplay is the key and I believe this game has a lot to offer. I am definately looking forward to the full version.

Yah, I think it should be balanced but its fun anyways:)
Guest IRG CommandoJoe
One of the most important factor in a SW game is the scaling. To make accurate scaling is to make it look a lot more believable. Do you honestly think 40 Stormtroopers could fit in the AT-AT? The Dewback is nearly as big as an AT-AT for crying out loud!!! The air units should be much bigger, especially since they are higher up, thus closer to the "camera." When you look at the doors at some of the buildings, it looks as like the people couldn't fit in them. At least in Force Commander, the scaling was believeable. They should do a complete re-scaling of all the units, and then it would be a MUCH better game.

But if they made the scaling exact, you'd either only be able to see on ATAT on the screen at a time, or the troops would be little dots on the landscape. I perfer it just like it is, scaling is often sacrificed for playability.
Guest IRG CommandoJoe
I don't think that's true. It doesn't look as though they couldn't make it bigger.
Guest Ben
Wow. I gotta say, I come here every day just for my daily chuckles. Watching all of you guys trying to convince yourselves that there's no way LucasArts could release the game looking like the demo did. The cries of "It's only a demo!" and "It's from months ago!" never cease to make my day. I hope you like exactly what you've got now. I wonder what's going to happen when the full game is released. Regardless, I'm sure it'll be equally amusing.

Guest Muuurgh
Is that GB is not terribly true to the Star Wars universe. And I agree with him. Ships? Hello? Flamethrowers melting durasteel? I've made my points about why I don't think it's very true to the star wars universe in other places, I won't make them again. But please note I like the game. Guest IRG CommandoJoe
I don't see why SW flamethrowers couldn't melt durasteel. Blasters tear through durasteel, right? And we all realize blaster bolts are plasma, right? Well, plasma basically does damage only because it is superheated (in the thousands of degrees). The flamethrower might produce enough heat to do the same.
JediMasterEd
Maybe because the Mounted Troopers use a type of heated liquid (ex. Roman Fire/oil). I mean, the civ's could of made a type of liquid that ignights(sp?) and can melt durasteel. Right?
Guest Muuurgh
My point is that you shouldn't be trying to think up ways it could be done, you should be drawing a direct reference from a SW source. I'm sure it could be done, but we've never seen it in any SW stuff, which is why I say the game isn't very star warsey. And when the hell did you see any ship apart from the bongo in ANY SW movie/book? Specifically, a warship?

Guest Bobio
Well, I was talking to my friend George Lucas on the subject of flame throwers in Star Wars just yesterday, and he said if you look closely at "A New Hope", frame 351, you know the one, you can clearly see stormtroopers using flamethrowers to kill a rebel fortress

Guest Bobio
Point is, since the flamethrower was in the movie, even for the brief second, its ok for it to be in the game. Just like if an author wrote that Godzilla comes back to life in the SW Universe, it could be in the game, since its right there in the book The makers of this game have as much power to create their own sw lore as any author did

I'm sure it could be done, but we've never seen it in any SW stuff, which is why I say the game isn't very star warsey. just cause u dont see it doesnt mean it does not exist and if they didint make up stuff then it wouldnt be too fun..having no anti-air units/towers..lots of the tanks...flamthrowers...ships..subs...LOTS OF WOOKIES AND NABOO units not there........as well as Naboo....sure would be a fun game without all that.........NOT AND all books written by authors not associated w/ the Star Wars movies are made up..chewie died..that was made up...lots of things were made up..hell the whole sw universe was made up...if things were not made up then we wouldnt be here cause there wouldnt be this forum because there is no SWGB because there is no star wars...i went a little far but i wanted to make a point and if you dont consider this game star warsey then let me give you reasons why it is: empire, rebels, naboo, trade fed., wookies, gungans, lasers, atats, atsts, stormtroopers, dewbacks, tauntaauns, snowspeeders, tie fighters, tie bombers, x-wings, naboo fighters, lightsabers, bounty hunters, jedi, sith, darth vader, han solo, chewbaca(however u spell that),leia, boss nass, qui-gon jin, bongo subs, mtt, atts, battle droids, naboo security guards, dark troopers, shields, .............you get my drift
