Sabretooth
Wow.... finally, no more "I've got better GPU than you" flame wars. This looks good, but I have a feeling its going to cost a ton...
Astrotoy7
lolz...stinger - you called have called this thread "AMD STRIKES BACK" I was expecting some juicy news from AMD after intels showponying about conroe. at last, after all the scuttlebutt, the AMD/ATI CnGPU gets a name = Fusion so can it officially be said that graphics cards are a thing of the past ??? what will poor nvidia do I'd like to know about the capabilities of fusion chips, and how they rate against existing hardware... as Ive said elsewhere : interesting times ahead in the compy world I highly recommend people sit and ride the wave and see how things turn out I'd say its going to be really difficult to future proof a machine greater than 12 moths... mtfbwya
Char Ell
My 2 cents: the Fusion processor will be great for run-of-the-mill PC's used for web browsing and basic business apps but for anybody that wants to use any heavy-duty graphics (e.g. gaming, video editing) they're still going to need a high-end video card. If this combination of CPU and GPU is going to rival systems with CPU's and GPU cards it's going to take at least 5 years of additional development to get there.
