Is this game worth getting now?

Im posting here with a question. Is this game worth getting

now and days. Has any recent patches ,mods come out that

improved on any problems the game had? Any nice maps that

editors made that improved gameplay? Ill accept all Comments

but please keep the thread clean

Thanks for the input jawa. Im thinking of getting into some fps'

online. So my 3 choices are either bf.bf2 or Academy. So im just

asking for some input on fellow gamers that play this everyday. So

Im just wondering is if the game is still popular and how is

the community. From what ive been reading there are some bad

sports. But thats typical with every game sadly. But I would think

that its not all like that everywhere. I dont mind people making any

special rules but all that complaining over stupid things is pretty

immature of some poeple. I would probally want to host my own games

over all that dumb booting. Its just a game cmon. People should

just come on to have fun instead of taking it seriously. Wish

all gamers were like that -.- .

Hmm, I actually enjoyed Battlefront 2 quite a bit, but I also enjoyed Academy. Academy is really good if you enjoy the lightsaber action and force power stuff, Battlefront is good if you just enjoy battles that involve lasers and vehicles. Battlefront does get a bit boring after playing it alot though, to keep it enjoyable you would probably have to download some extra maps, and I was one of the people dissapointed when Battlefront 2 didn't include many of the good maps in Battlefront.

Ya I agree wombird. Me and my brother would play co op on the xbox

alot of times and its sad that some of are favorite maps (were the tough ones)

were not included. Hope the good ole editors get those maps and some good fun

maps of there own soon. What attracts me to battlefront series is the amount

of people that can play on just 1 match. 64 people is alot and every1 working

together to acheive a certain goal sounds fun. What I find lacking in bf series

is the vehicles. If they want these maps to be like those awesome looking

battle scenes we want more vehicles instead of the limited amount we get. I know

they probally wanted to limit them because if they didnt you would just see

people on vehicles all the time instead of the nice rifle and gunlike playing.

I do hope that they add vehicle like levels with plenty of them around in there

future titles. I may actually get both bf2 and academy actually but since I

dont got me own job I have to convince me parents to get em for me.

What would be very interesting (I'm sure others have said this) is if they combined the space battles with ground battles, so that you could actually fly down to the planet or up to the space battle. I agree that they probably should have more vehicle orientated maps, and I really hope to see a TIE Defender added to the game (they are the ultimate fighter).

Thats a nice idea there Wombird and may happen in future titles.

Add multiples way to win instead of taking over bases.

Have bases in the air and on the ground. It could happen with

next gen technology I think. Just will take alot of time thats all.

If they cant do that. Have a mode like with that 1 big conquer the

galaxy 1 where instead of just 1 team you have 2 teams on 1 side doing

multiple battles at 1nce to decide the fate of 1 place. Now that would

be cool. Also with better technology maybe they can add more

support for more people on 1 map. 64 is alot but with better technology

I would love to see 100 someday.

Theres a mode in the conversion pack which also includes all of the BF1 maps(its what it was first made for but was expanded) where you get tons and tons of vehicles.

Hmmm, it's really annoying when they try to make a sequel to 'make the game better' and they leave out some of the best things.

Ya I hope they put a good amount of time going through what worked and

what they need to add in there next sequal. what would be cool though

is if they played out some other famous battles. Battle of Endor in space

most notibly. Imagine controling the death star. WOOOHOOO THE POWER.

'Ahem' gotta control myself here. Would be cool to control star destroyers

and some other famous big ships. Millennium falcon. Hey while there at it add

hero ships to there roster of hero units.

Hmm, a good idea, maybe more access to the capital ships as well, like being able to get onto the bridge and take control. Yes, a Battle of Endor map would be awesome, seems that Battlefront 2 focuses more on the Clone Wars and the newer episodes than the classics, which have some of the best battles.

Ya hopefully the next game focuses more on the origninal

trilogy. Maybe even get some episode 1 in there.

Controlling star destroyers etc would be awesome in my oppinion.

Maybe have a seige mode or something on a star destroyer.

Now that would be cool.

IMHO (And now you guys wanna kill me) - Battlefront should never had been made. I bought Battlefront2 and I hated it!

And now there's a Battlefront3 - ugh *shudders*

I think Battlefront was an awesome Idea made up from lucasarts.

Ya ill let you hold your oppinons on the game and everything but I

do like the idea of this game and where this style of play is heading.

THe big problem I guess with battlefront series is its only meant for online

play. There is real no good story modes even though the 2nd game produced a good story mode which was nice and all. THis new aproach to star wars(playing as the troops instead of taking the heros position) is a nice idea actually.

All games arent perfect so hopefully with newer sequals the game will get better and better.

Depends. Dice releases rushed and bugged software as well. Although more enjoyable IMO.

 

First Strike mod is making some good progress.

if you play online then it doesn't matter what one you get but for single player i prefer bf 1 because it has a lot of the best maps on it. the single player campaign in bf2 is better and also you can unlock certain items in bf2 depends what kind of game you want really. BTW i have all 3 versions of bf1 and all 4 versions of bf2 and both strategy guides
