Lechuck13
Here's a little thing I was thinking about. Out of the 14 adventure games LucasArts has done for the PC, five of them have been sequels (Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, MOnkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Day of the Tentacle, The Curse of Monkey Island, Escape from Monkey Island). That's almost half of them. Lucasarts seems to like sequels. So, my question to all of you is: What do you think Lucasarts' next sequel should be to (i'm not including MI in this poll, since it would have an extreme bias in a MI forum). Maniac Mansion Zak McKraken Loom Sam and Max Hit the Road Full Throttle The Dig Grim Fandango ------------------ "That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen!" -Guybrush Threepwood
Frenchyd
Zac McCracken??? I LOVE that game! heehee, i'll have to dig it out, i forgot about it. but i doubt it'll get a sequel. ummm Grim Fandango... or Sam and Max most likely ------------------ FrenchyD Visit my site? Lechuck13
just a friendly reminder that this is what game you think there should be a sequel to, not which one you think will most likely be made into Lucasarts' next sequel. ------------------ "That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen!" -Guybrush Threepwood
Tull
A Sam and Max sequel is impossible, LEC don't have the right anymore and Purcell isn't interested in another game so he won't be giving it to someone else for them to make. I would say Grim Fandango 2.
Rufio
a sequel to loom would be amazing, and the dig might also be really good. as for zak 2, there is a fan game in the works, let me find the link. ------------------ STILL the resident punk rocker! now with a new and improved secret formula. MtBlanc
But DOTT is already a sequel to Maniac Mansion. Anyways, I think there should be a sequel to Sam 'n Max. I know it will never happen, but as Lechuck13 said, I think it is the game that should have a sequel. I'd also like to beat nfgb to that link: Here it is: http://www.zak2.de/ It's really cool, go check it out! ------------------

Guest The Feral Chicken
Actually, it was one of the 3 sequels to SOMI. Umm....I think a Full Throttle sequel would work, but I HOPE they don't make sequels to any of those games, thus pimping themselves. The only one I think they could make and not pimp the game would be a new Sam & Max game, but not a sequel to 'Hit the Road' ------------------
BoneMaster
Sequel to loom would be nice. there is fan made sequel to indy and zak so i don't count them. I also would like to sequel to Full Throttle. link to atlantis 2 project is www.indyproject.de . NFGB: Have you played the vga version of Loom? DiScO StU
i would like a sequal to grim fandango, but it`ll never happen. ------------------
brief
What I would really like to see is a Star Wars graphics adventure game. I think that would be awesome. ------------------ "Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun." --Ash, Army of Darkness
StarEye
I'd really like to see another original Indiana Jones adventure. I loved Atlantis! But that wouldn't be a sequel, since it only has the same setting, not a continuation of a saga. The Infernal Machine should have been a Graphic Adventure game. Lechuck13
Originally posted by Rapp Scallion: Why not? CMI was a sequel to MI2:LR Actually, Feral's right. you can't have a sequel to a sequel, they're always sequels to the original. Scream 3 was a sequel to Scream, not Scream 2. Jurassic Park 3 was a sequel to Jurassic Park, not The Lost World. Hannibal was the sequel to Manhunter, not The Silence of the Lambs. Etc, etc. so, CMI was a sequel to SOMI, just as DOTT was a sequel to Maniac Mansion. And once again, due to confusion, it seems I need to repeat, as non-threatingly as I can, THIS IS THE GAME YOU WANT A SEQUEL TO! NOT THE ONE THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL TO! Therefore, all the games I listed above are eligible, regardless of who owns the rights. Anyways, carry on... ------------------ "That's the second biggest monkey head I've ever seen!" -Guybrush Threepwood
Tull
Why won't a Grim Fandango 2 happen Stu? It's quite well known that it would've been Schafer's next project if he had stayed on at LEC bu he left which threw a major spanner in the works. There are indications that they may try it again some other time without him.

DiScO StU
like feral said in his other topic, there are more reasons not to make a grim fandango sequal than why they should make a grim fandango 2. And also i think lucas arts would consider making a grim fandango 2, but not take it seriously, first off they`ll need a new problem/situation, like in grim fandango, the corrupted d.o.d. this will won`t be that hard but to come up with a good one like in the first grim fandango would be impossible. the sequal will also be complicated because in star wars, monkey island they have the same villin/hero, in grim fandango hector is dead manny is gone. also, without the direction of tim the game would never be the same. ------------------ [This message has been edited by DiScO StU (edited April 04, 2001).]
Tull
Making a good sequel to GF would be tricky, but it's certainly not impossible. The right team of talent could find a way.
storken
Then it would have a completly different story, other characters, etc. But the same gamecontrols and it should be as good as the first one ------------------
