CSI smiled, "Vergil, open up a warpgate between this and Enterprise."

"Look, the issue is solved. Besides, if we rescue Ben and Aurora out, they don't need to know." CSI said cheerfully.

[Thank you Grey Master, look, we're planning some rescue operation.]

"Got any story to kill the time?" CSI asked the gang when he checked up the Z-6 Rotery Blaster Cannon.

Vergil looked at CSI and narrowed her eyes.

N'Dul sighed.

"It is not that I am unwilling, only that such differences would inevitably be used against us, to divide and destroy. It's a sound tactic, and in another instance, which of us would not use it?

And there is the vision. It seems clear to me that those dying most vividly in the vision are Jedi. But before they die, they do seem to turn against another, less visible opponent to the chaos that comes, and both fall at the same time. So is it necessary to fall? Quite probably. And before either of you trot out that old excuse for inaction, when the Force is involved, the future is rarely either far away, or likely to diverge far from the truth.

I will give you some time to consider my offer carefully. I urge you to think carefully before you throw away the galaxy."

He left the room, and the doors closed behind him.

Returning to a secondary control room, he checked the hull for tracking devices, and upon making sure that there were none, jumped to hyperspace, no longer traceable.

Aurora stared at the door. "Before *I* throw away the galaxy? What about you? You really think the galaxy will be any better off if you turn it into an empire and rule it with an iron fist? If you think there are so many problems with the Jedi, then why don't you try to help fix them instead of killing us all? You want me to think about your offer, fine. I will. But you think carefully about mine: you have far more experience and power in the Force than I do, there's no denying that. You could be a great help to the Jedi Order, providing your unique perspective and talents. If you think the Order is inefficient and incapable, then help me reform it!" She turned away, hotly, and sat down by herself up against the wall.

Arion finally sensed Ben's parents in one of the post-op areas, and went to find them. "Aksul, Sandra. There you are. I've, ah, been looking for you."

Ben stared at Aurora after her outburst and could barely contain his own. He reached out, reminding N'Dul of the bond they had formed when he was his apprentice. Hotly, he screamed through their bond ::SHUTTA! Your such a old fool that you seem to have FORGOTTEN our force bond.... Let me remind you.:: He then began to forcibly break through the Sith Lord's defences and started to violently trash his mind, causing as much pain as he could while he was looking for evdience of the truth he was seeking. Once he found what he was looking for, he purely focused on causing him as much agony as possible until he and Aurora were released.

Aksul and Sandra appeared to be staring into space, not noticing Arion standing there until out of the shadows, Atra appeared and said cooly "What is it.... Jedi?"

Aurora looked up when she felt Ben attack N'Dul with his mind. "Ben, please.... I know you're angry, but that isn't going to help. I'm.... I'm sorry I lost my temper. I set a bad example for you. Please forgive me." She looked away again, ashamed.

Arion turned when Atra came out of the shadows. "Darth Atra, my apologies, I didn't see you there. I came to give you and your parents news of your brother. He... and Aurora.... have been imprisoned by the Sith Lord. I- I'm sorry."

After a few minutes, unwilling to control himself any longer, N'Dul burst out laughing.

"Do you honestly think that you could break me, even through a force bond?"

He reversed Ben's flow of anger back on himself, letting his own aggression wear down his defences. As Ben began to weaken, he let him go.

"Questioning me was a foolish mistake."

He turned to Aurora.

"To reform the Order? Every time this has been attempted, the words 'Dark' and 'Side' have come together, and the subject has closed, usually with mass expulsions and a schism of some kind, meaning more false pretenders to the Sith throne. As a possibility, it would seem to be slim."

As his own anger was turned against him by N'Dul, Ben began to feel the pain that was being done to him and began to instinctively turn it into anger, to protect himself. Once he was released, he realized that Aurora was once again worried about his.... ourburst. He desperately turned to her and said "Save me.... I beg you" feeling the dark side beginning to surround him like prey, closing in. Through his bond with Aurora, he wispered ::I will forgive you, if you can forgive me, my love.::

Atra looked at Arion coldly, and stated "I am a Sith Lord, thank you very much. Whoever is holding my brother will beg me to end them when I get through with them.... Where are they!"

Aurora was at Ben's side instantly, feeling his desperation. She drew on the Force, channeling it through their bond, strengthening him, and driving back the dark side. ::The secret is to let *go* of your anger. Look, let me show you.:: She opened her mind fully to him, letting him feel what she was doing. She drew the Force into herself, letting it flow through her body, taking with it impurities like anger and fear. Then she let it drain away, taking the anger with it. She looked into his eyes. ::You see?::

Arion scowled. "Look, I don't know what your problem is, I haven't been *trying* to offend you, but I can't say anything without making you mad. So just cool it for a minute, and I'll try to tell you. N'Dul has them aboard his meditation sphere thingy, and took off. CSI and Leia apparently have some sort of a 'plan' to rescue them, but considering how well Leia's plan worked last time, well.... I'm not entirely convinced. Anyway, I've got to go, they're waiting for me."

Ben embraced Aurora and wispered into her ear "I love you, I hope that what I am about to do.... dosn't get me killed by that...... thing, but also helps you." He then rested his head on her sholder and closed his eyes and then used what was left of the anger he had felt and the bond with his sister, to reach out to her and Arion, creating a force marker guiding them to his location.

Atra's eyes narrowed and she suddenly felt her brother through the force. She grabbed Arion on the sholder and asked him "Do you feel that? A powerful marker in the force, its Ben. Come on, lets go!" Aksul and Sandra lept up stood behind Atra waited for Arion to lead them.

Aurora closed her eyes, feeling the beacon that Ben had created. "Us, Ben," she whispered. "Helps us."

Arion frowned. "CSI had some sort of a warp gate around here somewhere." He contacted CSI through the Force. ::Eh, CSI, I'm ready, but Atra, Aksul, and Sandra insist upon coming too.::

N'Dul raised an eyebrow, and tutted.

"You won't even consider my offer? How inconsiderate."

He closed his eyes, and, sensing Ben's marker, broke a small phial, and threw it out of the airlock. After a few moments, the contents jumped to hyperspace in the opposite direction, broadcasting an almost identical marker in the opposite direction.

"A small precaution, although I ought to warn you that no message carried along the Light Side can escape this vessel. It is of the Dark Side, and keyed to me. Your thoughts, however, will simply refract back into this chamber. Meanwhile, your friends will find my decoy marker in empty space."

Aurora eyed N'Dul. "I have considered your offer, very carefully. I suggest you consider mine. I am curious, though. What, precisely, are the issues you have with the Order and its teachings? If you had the power to change anything about it, what would you change? Why is it that you hate us with such ferocity that you would kill every one of us?"

Ben gently kissed Aurora's cheek and wispered "I am so sorry, forgive me." He opened his eyes finally and noticed when looking into Aurora's eyes that his had become yellow again from generating the beacon. However, he was feeling much calmer than before.

"I would say that trying to set a trap for my ship is a very strange way of seriously considering my offer. I have considered your offer, but I would need absolute and overriding control of the Jedi Order. To embrace power, you must embrace the Dark Side, and the Sith teachings and methods, if not our philosophy.

Why do I hate the Jedi? Because the Jedi hate me. Because the Jedi killed half my race! I was there as your predecessors fire-bombed my home from orbit, as they destroyed our history, culture, technology. All because of one preening egotist and his lust for glory! Because before that, your predecessors hunted my ancestors, my flesh and blood, for a philosophical disagreement. Because the Jedi are weak, and they spread weakness and corruption of spirit. By taking on the burdens of others, you challenge yourselves, but weaken others. And when you do this on a galactic scale, you weaken the galaxy as a whole. And then, you encourage this weakness upon all the galaxy, like a drug, causing dependency upon the Jedi, causing a useless peace that causes stagnation and decay. Conflict strengthens us, even if it is painful. And through such conflict, we remain strong. For the most part. It can lead, it is true, to the rise of the foolish and the arrogant. That is why a structure and a procedure are required. That was why we failed. And that is why I hate the Jedi."

Aurora gently, reluctantly, ended their kiss to address N'Dul. "I didn't set a trap for your ship. You must think I'm crazy, however, if you think I'm going to turn over complete control of the Jedi Order so that you can turn it into another branch of the Sith. It's not like you were going to hand me control over the Sith if I joined you."

She sighed. "You are not the only one who has lost your family, your people, to the enemy, you know. The Sith have hunted the Jedi to the verge of extinction, the Jedi who raised me, who taught me everything I know. I suppose I have as much a right to hate you as you hate me. But I don't. I did not participate in the destruction of your people, nor did you kill the Jedi.

You say the Jedi are weak, yet you do not explain what is weak about us. It is true, we do try to help others, to reconcile their disputes, but a galaxy torn by war is not the stable one you claimed before to want."
