Based on what Hannibal has posted in [thread=176556]this thread[/thread] it doesn't sound like OXM has confirmed anything, just made an educated guess that may or may not turn out to be true.

Rumor debunked!

The April 2007 issue of Official Xbox magazine speculated that Bioware, which developed the first game in the series, would develop Knights of the Old Republic 3. The magazine also speculated a 2008 release.[citation needed] This rumor has been debunked by BioWare employees, who have stated on BioWare's official forums that "we are not currently working on KotOR 3" and "if [a sequel is] being done, it's certainly not being done by us."[3]

Oy Scopester! You not only quoted a wikipedia article but you didn't even provide a link to it. Not a good way to support your position but I'll back you up on this one. ;)

How about I prove you wrong by saying that we are not working on KotOR 3 and have no plans to start? It may be a rumor or w hope or w wish or whatever, but we are not currently working on KotOR 3 and we have no plans to work on KotPR 3 at this (or any afaik) time.

To echo Chris: if it's being done, it's certainly not being done by us.

It would seem that if we're going to see KotOR 3 in the next couple of years that it won't be a BioWare or Obsidian developed game.

Actually, I'll think it might be Obisidan developed. Obisidan isn't so freaked out about the speculation, and it tolerates a pretty, pretty huge topic all speculating on K3. All we know is that Bioware says it's not going to do it. Obisidan is just remaining mum. Until it speaks, though, we don't know.

Best to say on the safe side, it's not happening now.

Oh, and sorry for not providing a link. I was so happy and excited it wasn't Bioware. :D

But from what I understand Obsidian has two Sega games it's working on, one for Aliens and the other still unannounced. If what Feargus Urquhart has said in the past holds true then Obsidian's development plate is already full and they really couldn't start working on KotOR 3 in earnest until 2009. Hence the reason why I said "in the next couple of years." :) At this point it seems to me like the KotOR 3 developer question is very much unanswered.

OK. Just make sure it doesn't happen again or it's Double Secret Probation for you! :p

'Rumor' and 'speculate' are the key words in that quote. IF the game were to be made, then they're smart to keep DL, common sense to build up commotion for such a highly rated game series. If they have some sort of plan they might release a sneak teaser next E3, or maybe the one after that!(Saying that, I really hope that PS3 tech. demo on FFVII was more than a demo...)

Thing is:

1) There will be a kotor3 sometime somewhere in the future.

2) There is no solid information on it yet, yes that is true even for those mags and sources.

3) Every month it is required by law for someone to dig up some rumor about who/when/how kotor3 would be from.
