Arátoeldar
I am hoping that the Red Soxes sweep the damn Yankees this weekend.
Cygnus Q'ol
However, I still want the CUBS to pwn the little red birds in this upcoming series. Make sure to keep all sharp objects away from Jimbo this weekend, and for goodness sake, please hide your lightsaber. I'm actually rootin' for the Cards this time. It doesn't happen often, but the Brewers need all the help they can get. My worries are with the big sticks in Cinncinnati this weekend. Griffey and Dunn are an unstoppable force. I'm tryin' to figure who we have to get them out.
Commander Obi-Wan
The same problem the Brewers have. Bullpen woes. Same problem for the Blue Jays. We've lost very recent close games, because I bullpen blew it in the final innings. I sure wish the Jays would step up. Because really every year they are stuck behind the Yankees or the Red Sox. The Yankees are either in first by a long shot or they make the mid-season run and make it into the playoffs like this year. Damn Yankees. In the NL Central, I'm rootin' for the Cubs or the Reds, I've always liked the Cubs. But, I think the Brewers have a better team, at least offensively. The Cubs have better pitching. Point Man
I hate to say it, but with my Cardinals losing 9 in a row (though we did beat the Cubs tonight to finally end the streak), I don't see the Redbirds winning it this year. Well, maybe the Cubs can end 99 years of futility...nah!
Jae Onasi
Well, maybe the Cubs can end 99 years of futility...nah! You sux, your Cards sux, and your little dog sux, too. Oh, wait, you don't have a little dog.
Arátoeldar
I can't believe that between Okajima & Papelbon they gave up 6 runs in the 8th inning to the damn Yankees Friday night.
Rev7
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are pretty much above all other teams. Although the name is long, I think they will go far this year. Can't touch this!! hehehe!

Commander Obi-Wan
Finally, the Blue Jays were able to look like a playoff team. The Big Hurt hit 3 home runs and Dustin McGowan pitched a complete game and strikeout 9, while only allowing a run to the BoSox. I guess since they were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, it's up to the Jays to play spoiler.
Cygnus Q'ol
With the Cards all but done, the Brew Crew's focus is soley on the Cubbies. In the back of my head, I can still hear Vader's orders from the final moments of the Battle of Yavin when Wedge got hit, he directed his wings to: "Let him go. Stay on the Leader!" One game back and roughly a dozen to go, the Brewers have no more days off. It's third star to the right and straight on 'till the end of the season. I just hope Zambrano pitches alot more. It's fun watching him get upset on the mound. ...here they come down the stretch! GO BREWERS
Jae Onasi
Cubs' magic number is 12, but by no means guaranteed since the Brewers are staying well in the race. Zambrano's pitching tonight, actually. He's definitely an emotional guy.
Cygnus Q'ol
ALL SQUARE !!!
mimartin
ALL SQUARE !!! The Astros don’t even have the term spoilers in their vocabulary. If I were the Cubs I would be protesting the Astros play to the league office today. They pitched a rookie pitcher, making his first major league start and just his third appearance after spending the year in AA against a contending team. Either their pitching staff is terrible (which it is) or they want to see the Cubs curse continue. I can’t believe the Brewer have two series with non-division foes left on their schedule. It would be great if the Cubs and Brewers actually played the last month of the season. At first glance the Brewer’s schedule looks tougher, but the Cubs still have four games with Cincinnati and they do know what it means to be a spoiler. At least two of the Cubs remaining series are within the Central division. This is a great pennant chase in the National League all the divisions are still up for grabs. It is just hard to get excited when your team is vying for the number one draft pick. Something that in baseball means very little.
Cygnus Q'ol
This is a domain that the Brewers have never experienced. The Cubs are hot right now and show no signs of looking back. The inexperience of this young Brewers' team is beginning to show. Not just in the youthful players themselves, but in the decisions of the green managing staff as well. ...not to mention the bullpen. Oh! the bullpen. TurnbLow has scorched my very last nerve. Over in the other dugout, I have to believe Lou's prescence through this run and his experience is what this team is leaning on. That and some really hot bats. Ramirez is ridiculous. Soriano is worth every penny right now. The Cubs are sittin' pretty, 2games up until tonight when the Crew takes on the Braves, who seem to have their number. The pitching was great for them last night. Fielder was frustrated. Yost looked lost. At least there's 11 games left instead of just maybe 2 or 3. As of now there's still hope. But that's even dwindling as Sheets will miss his next start with a bum hammy. All we can do now is struggle to stay right there in their hip pocket and capitolize on them when they slip. ...if they ever do.

Cygnus Q'ol
Welcome to my world. I'm afraid to breathe and and get my hopes up only to have them dashed yet another year. I think you're OK. Cubbies look unstoppable. Not only will they get to the post season, they look like they will advance. I can't say "Good Luck" to them yet, seeing how we still haven't been mathmatically eliminated, however the Cubs are the Central champions this year. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. From my standpoint, I have to be pleased with the season the Brewers had. They made grand strides from last year and we have a hot, young team. Some upgrades in the pitching staff and a few contract settlements and they should be even better next year. It was a great run and I enjoyed (most of) it. mimartin
I think you're OK. Cubbies look unstoppable. I would tend to agree, but those Chicago six road games loom large. Let see how the Cubs respond to playing before the 50 fans in Florida (of course the Cubs should help that number) and those three games in Cincinnati look big. The Brewers home games look just as daunting with four of them coming against the Padres (who are still in the hunt for a playoff spot). Speaking of the San Diego what about Manager Bud Black trying to restrain Milton Bradley from a further confrontation with the umpire and ended up tearing Bradley’s anterior cruciate ligament, and thus really hurting the Padres chances of winning the wild card. Commander Obi-Wan
I'm rooting for the Rockies to get into the playoffs whether it's through wild card or the division. They've been hot as late, winning something like 8 consecutive games. I like their chances. With Holliday having a great season, possible MVP in the NL and Jeff Francis pitching pretty good. Todd Helton isn't even having a great season, but hopefully, they can reach the playoffs.
