I need support - Real life Art faculty test coming up...

Recommended Posts

You don't know me; I don't know you...

But right now, I really could use some support...well, other than from the friends I know the faces of and some German guy (who hasn't been online cos he's in...India?)

Okay, seriously now. I've applied for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Nanyang Technological University (in Singapore...yes, that place in PoTC At World's End [PS: Our hookers are actually quite ugly])

Anyway, it's called the Arts, Design and Media course and includes everything from Animation, Visual Communication to Games Design. Its studios and equipment cost millions and are state-of-the-art. Its campus is a gorgeous glass building with sweeping grass plains ON the roof where students can climb up and row down with abandon.

And it's linked with LucasArts so I could be working for them one day (oh how ironic that I'm posting on this forum...)

Basically, its freaking awesome and THE ONE PLACE I want to be EVERY DAY OF MY UNIVERSITY LIFE!

Unfortunately, its got one hell of an entry requirement.

First off, portfolio, 3min demo reel, 400 word essay on why I should be allowed in, interview, and upcoming FACULTY TEST.

I've submitted my port, my demo, my essay, and my interview comes up after the Faculty Test.

Which btw, is THIS COMING SATURDAY!

So, I need support. I can't show you examples of my work right now (my DevArt account has some but they are HORRIBLY outdated and holds none of my portfolio works) but basically, I got off MSN with my previous Art Teacher from Junior College. He says the test isn't a big deal. He's had students who didn't even complete the test and got in. He says that it's just to make sure you really did all the stuff in the port.

That...comforts me...a little...yeah...

...please, I'm really freaking out here...it's 3 days away...oh gawd I need to play some Psychonauts! Need to get some post-modern psychic people in my brain...*rub the brilliance rub the brilliance!*

That sounds freakin' awesome man. As a fellow artist I give you mad props for doing what you're doing. I wish I was. But there is nothing really here in CT like that. Take advantage of that place and give it all you got. That is a heck of an opportunity ya got there. Don't stress though. I'm sure you'll do fine. If you ever want to talk art gimme a holler. Good luck man.
