Falkken
Hello y'all, I'm Falkken, new to Kotor II editing. I would like to know if there is a way to edit items icons and if so, how. Thank you.
Ghost Down
Extract them with KOTOR Tool, edit them with Photoshop or any other graphics editing program and then place the edited files in your Overrride folder - Ghost Down
Falkken
Thanks for the fast answer Ghost Down however, I am new to Kotor editing. I already have Kotor Tool which I used to extract the template files I needed for the items I would like to edit however, I don't know where the Icons are located. And could you also tell me how to create a Override folder? Thank you again.
ChAiNz.2da
Thanks for the fast answer Ghost Down however, I am new to Kotor editing. I already have Kotor Tool which I used to extract the template files I needed for the items I would like to edit however, I don't know where the Icons are located. And could you also tell me how to create a Override folder? Icons are generally located in the "swpc_tex_gui.erf" directory, under the ERFs section (using KotOR Tool).. As for your override folder, simply create a new folder within your KotOR/TSL directory and name it 'override' (no quotes) KotOR, by default already has one (or should).. in TSL you'll need to make one, or one (should) be created once you install the patch Welcome to the Forums! Falkken
Thanks, I've located them. Let's hope I can come up with that mod and release it.
Qui-Gon Glenn
If you don't have big $$$$, I recommend Paint.net for an application such as this... Fairly easy to use, and more robust than I expected. Free, unless you can donate.
Falkken
I have modified the files I wanted using Macromedia Fireworks 8, I converted those files to .tga however I don't know how to convert them back into .tpc it is unclear on the forum how to do such a manipulation and dropping my edited .tga files in the "override" folder won't change anything. Do I need subfolders structure? exemple override\ERFs\TexturePacks\swpc_tex_gui.erf\I\ Could someone point me out to the right direction please? Dragoon ZER0
You don't need to convert them back to .tpc. You also don't need any subfolders. Just put them in override. If your .tga files aren't working there's something wrong with them.
Falkken
Nevermind, seems like I dumped the files in the wrong folder. Thank you for the answers though. Everything's working good now.
