Pavlos
Well my calendar informs me it's Diwali today so: Happy Diwali (or Tihar, or even Swanti, depending on where you are in the world). I figured that we so often have "Happy this and that" threads for the Judaeo-Christian festivals - and pagan, of course (i.e. Hallowe'en) - that it would be nice to wish everyone who is celebrating this holiday a happy Festival of Lights. If I'm not mistaken, the light is something to do with your inner self? Anyway, before I soliloquise about something or another not entirely relevant: Happy Diwali, once again. Can you even wish someone a Happy Diwali? I feel so terribly insular and uneducated...

Sabretooth
I was to make one yesterday, but I was too lazy. Thanks, Pavlos. Happy Diwali, everyone! I've been enjoying a month-long vacation here. Best thing is, you keep exchanging gifts here and there, especially sweets. We got three huge boxes of chocolates, so I've been happy for the week. Add to that all the homemade goodies in Diwali. If any of you don't have problems with fried goods, I'd share some recipes with you (including an invention my mom made that involves chocolate ) Then there's all the crackers. Everyone bursts all sorts of crackers twenty-four hours here, in Diwali, since this is the Festival of Light. Sometimes it feels like being on the warfront. Mom performs day-specific pagan Hindu rituals, like we had Laxmi Pujan yesterday. That is welcoming the Goddess of Wealth Laxmi (pron. Luh-ksh-mee) into your house. All your Diwali questions go to me.
