e-varmint Posted December 19, 2007 Share Posted December 19, 2007 Another "has anyone done this?" topic: A mod that creates a post-destruction Taris using only the undercity and sewers, and replaces the original Taris in the galaxy map. Since only the surface was destroyed, the undercity should still be livable. I can easily create the new areas, but I have no idea how to script the galaxy map. The quest that takes you there could be a rescue mission to see if any of the people you helped when you where there before are still alive. This way it would work for both LS players as well as DS players. Any survivors could be dropped of on Manaan. Due to the Kolto trade there. It has already been hinted a lot of the Undercity "civilians" survived the bombing, together with a marginal portion of Lower City civilians. e-varmint Posted December 19, 2007 Author Share Posted December 19, 2007 You've all just convinced me to go ahead with this regardless of whether it's been done before. I can get around having to learn how to script the galaxy map by triggering the mod from one of the other planets. Maybe if you managed to edit the clips correctly you could use Manaan as a post bombing Taris, as long as you cut the clip before you can see the city. If you want, you (or anyone else who wants to) can play around with this blank module: Edit: Beta release can be found in the Taris Upper City Emporium. The doors still lead back to the main game, and I've removed everything else except the placeables. I plan to connect the current sewer door with the new sewer levels, and the elevator door with a warp-back-to-the-trigger-planet script. My plan is to use this area, the two sewer areas and a modified tomb area from Koriban. I think that's about all I can take on. Maybe if you managed to edit the clips correctly you could use Manaan as a post bombing Taris, as long as you cut the clip before you can see the city. If I can make this work, I'll post a .wmv for comments. ps. If you need a blank module for your other project, let me know. I'll be happy to make one. What if one of the medium sized rooms in your mod is a century old armory from the Taris Civil War. This adds potential for finding new and original items. Thanks! I have collected several dialogs to use here and there, and will start adding "survivors" to the undercity. So far, I'm thinking Janice, one of the Hutts, the doctor, one of the merchants, and, of course, Deadeye. I'm also pretty sure the rancor from the original plot must have had a nest somewhere...........If there are any other suggestions for survivors, there's plenty of room!
