cap_keyes117
I was playing through a new game of K1 today when I realized that there were two unused doors on the right side of the jedi living quarters. I thought it would be awesome if a modder was able to make a cantina full of jedi and refugees that might have a merchant and a small side quest. Just a thought
Serathas
that would be nice, i don't know where the doors are, but i guess i can look it up, i could probably do it, only that i will need a working merchant script, mine don't want to work
Darth Payne
Aren't the living quarters where you can run into the pazaak player and ahlan matale? And Elise Montagne after running into the droid near the crystal cave, and after telling her of the droids destruction. If it is then maybe javyars cantina from taris is a good idea for the cantina. You'd have to re-skin the cantina so the walls inside match the walls outside.
cap_keyes117
both of those points are dead on, javyar's cantina across from Ahlan's temporary quarters at the enclave

Jorrel Fraajic
Yeah, those doors aren't exactly unused... one of the Matale/Sandral outcomes places the kids in one of the rooms, and in one of the female droid owner outcomes Elise ends up in the other. I suppose, though, that some creative scriptwork could put either one of the two elsewhere on the map, like in the docking area or the central courtyard, and use the open door for a small cantina... maybe even the room that already has the Pazaak player... Serathas
yeah, thats possible, i guess, but i will check it out closer later, its over 4 am here, far over..
Inyri
Those would be the doors on the left. He's talking about the un-openable doors on the opposite side, I believe.
cap_keyes117
inyri is correct, the doors i was talking about were the ones opposite Ahlan and later the kids
Jorrel Fraajic
Ah, that makes sense re-reading the original post... sorry for the confusion. As for the idea, is it possible to even script those doors open? I thought it was just a door graphic placed on the wall, rather than an all-new door entry. I'm not sure there's any way to modify the map to include a door right there. Of course, there may very well be a way, or another option of trickery... I don't know them, though. Darth Kalverys
There has to be a way, I don't know it, but I know that I've played with several mods that had doors "painted" on the walls that opened them up and added a new area to it. It shouldn't be too hard, so long as someone knows what they are doing that is...
Darth Payne
Maybe adding a console infront of it like in Redhawke's Ord Mandell? You could always say that the door has been damaged, like RH did.
Serathas
yeah, that would work, if i just knew how, but i guess it won't be to hard, just extracting the base model of the console, place out the "door" then mod it to look like the console, i guess that wouldn't be to hard
Darth Payne
The console could also be a security feature so the younglings and the younger padawans do not get in.

Darth Payne
The console would of course hold a warp-script that takes you to the cantina. When you activate it you get either three questions to verify that you are acually supposed to enter, or simply the question (Would you like to enter the 'enter cantina name' now?) Azzameen
Maybe that console could ask for some ID, a proof, you are older than 21. So Mission ans Bastila can't join you in the cantina. Ah, maybe Bastila, I don't know about the laws in the US, but back here, she could enter a cantina, while Revan acompanies her. Er, I guess, she's about 17, no? Darth Payne
You could add a jedi id card with the jedi robe you get frem master zhar. That is possible, isn't it?

If so we have something in common. (On-Topic) Response: I do not think that many modders and reskinners will do this, mainly because of the scale it will be. I am starting to Mod and I don't think that I will ever be able to do this.
Serathas
Nothing's wrong with asking someone to help you with it. true, but i don' want to start a whole new thread about it, and if anyone could, im in the need of someone who could help me to get my merchant script to work correctly
Azzameen
@HK-57: Answer: No, I'm not British. I thought my English would betray me, but I'm glad it didn't. Proud Statement: I am of German origin, living there, and all. In Germany, people under the age of 18 are only allowed in such buildings like cantinas, if they're accompanied by adults. Query: Do British laws differ? (On Topic) Statement: It was just an idea, I mean, because of the Manaan Doors Mod by... someone else. There, you can be accompanied by humans between the ages of 15 and 50 (I think), and battle droids, when you go underwater. So Mission, Zaalbar, Jolee, and T3 couldn't go with you. Commentary: Turned out, Bastila had a special line for the encounter of the mercenary under water. But I don't remember it.
