Marius Fett
Pretty much what the title says... I'm using journal entries in my planet mod obviously so I am going to make its global.jrl compatible with as many mods as possible. I've already made it compatible with BoS, ORD Mandell and Kay, anyone know any others? These are the ones I already know about: BoS ORD Mandell Kay MECK Shadowland Restoration
Stream
Why don't you use TSL Patcher? that's the easiest way. --Stream
Marius Fett
Because i've never been able to work it...

Marius Fett
Thanks Sekan, i'm guessing MECK InSidious Plot does too then...
Seamhainn
Deleted Shadowland restoration/mod uses it!
Marius Fett
I'm guessing Vulkar Restoration does too...
Seamhainn
I'm guessing Vulkar Restoration does too... Nope, that quest (if you want to call it one) was implemented by the developers. At the moment I don't plan on making additions. Take care
Marius Fett
Ok, i'll take it off the list.
Robespierre
Wouldn't every mod that adds a journal entry use the global.jrl? The Taris Teleporter does (but its not THAT crucial). I"m thinking about making a TSLPatcher version though.
Marius Fett
Yes they would... I realise I won't able to make them all compatible but I can at least do the ones people know about...
Inyri
TSLPatcher doesn't change Global.jrl, that's what the JRL Merger is for.
Ferc Kast
TSLPatcher doesn't change Global.jrl, that's what the JRL Merger is for. You sure?? Because that's not what I understood. It can, in general terms:...Modify values in fields and add new fields to GFF format files (UT*, DLG, JRL, GIT, ARE, IFO etc...) that might already exist in the user's override folder or inside ERF/RIM archives. Again to reduce incompatibility when different mods need to do things to the same file.
Marius Fett
Yep Inyri is right... TSLPatcher doesn't modify the jrl file at all.
stoffe
Yep Inyri is right... TSLPatcher doesn't modify the jrl file at all. TSLPatcher can be used to insert/add fields to any GFF format file. The global.jrl file is no exception. In the case of global.jrl it's even pretty easy to configure, just extract two unaltered copies of the global.jrl file, add your new entries to one of them and then use the GFF compare function in the config utility to make it build the proper modifiers. (The only thing to watch out for is mods that add entries with the same tag, but that's easily avoidable by making sure the journal tags/names of your custom entries are reasonably unique.) Marius Fett
Oops! Sorry stoffe! I can't use TSLPatcher so I guess I shouldn't have commented...
