Sapphron
I've been looking to convert the KotOR music files for my own use, but I've been running into a few problems. I thoroughly searched these forums, and found that most users recommend the Miles Sound Studio program a few years back, but it never worked when decompressing any of the files, giving me a codec error for whatever reason. I tried renaming the files as .mp3s, using Goldwave, Audacity, Sony Soundforge, and RazorLame, and none of them have been able to successfully convert the files. I also tried using the Miles player to manually record the tracks with Audacity, but it didn't play the files. Does anyone have a link to an older version of Miles that works, or some other program I can use? Any help would be appreciated.
Inyri
If you want a simple solution, just set your windows recording mixer to "Stereo Mix" and record your sound output with one of your sound programs.
Sapphron
Thanks for the quick reply. I would record the sound output, but all of the tracks refuse to play in Miles or anything else. I suppose I could record them all from points in the game, but I was really looking forward to also getting those tracks that play during the different videos, which would be full of sound effects. Sapphron
Thanks for the offer jonathan7; I've sent you a PM. after renaming them to .mp3's did you use miles sound studio to decompress them into .wav files? Yes, I did try that also, but it only decompressed them as extremely small files (around 3-4KB; .wavs should be in the MB range), and they don't play. Are you able to decompress them properly if they're renamed to .mp3s?

Sapphron
This is a very good resource also: http://soundtracks.mixnmojo.com/ Thanks, but I checked that out too when I was trying to get the files to work, but it wasn't successful for me. I've pretty much looked at all the threads at this forum concerning the decompression of the files, and none of them worked for me. It may simply be that a newer version of Miles doesn't work properly with those files. Does anyone have an older version of the program that I could download to try out? I've also sent you a PM settoken.
