Playing XWA Without Joystick

Can I somehow play the game without a joystick? It won't let me play the game without one.

Try PPJoy; it's meant to be a driver for old parallel port joysticks, but it also lets you emulate a joystick with the keyboard or mouse. I'd get a joystick ASAP, though...a simple USB stick can be had for about $30 or $40.

How do you configure this? I want to use the keyboard to move but the mouse to fire.

I have a stick, so I really have no use for that driver, but there should be documentation (at least a "read me" file) with the download.

I really support the use of a stick, using the keyboard alone for XWing is like walking in the dark with a cane and using one foot. Realy is not that hard to use a stick once you learn and there are great ones for the price that Wildstar suggests with all the features you will need.
