Pavlos
Source The Witcher developers, CD Projekt have announced the whimsically named Good Old Games, a digital delivery service to provide DRM-free access to... good old games (what else?) for a low price. An interview with Tom Ohle, CD Projekt's marketing VP, over at Shacknews reveals more for those interested. Essentially, GOG.com is just a website. You go to GOG.com, we'll have the latest games listed up top, reader reviews. We'll have a news section dedicated to retro gaming, or classic PC games. The focus will be on the games catalog, online. So you go to GOG.com, either search for your game or start browsing, we've got a pretty deep browse feature for different categories. The games are gonna be priced at either $5.99 [emphasis mine] or $9.99. You buy it, pay for it, download it and install it. You can go back and re-download it any time you want. GOG is set to have Fallout, Fallout 2, MDK 1 and 2, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Freespace 1 and 2, Sacrifice, Descent 1-3, and Kingpin: Life of Crime available for download when it goes live in September. While the team behind GOG does not have access to the source code for all of these games, each of them will have their own updated installer to ensure compatibility with both Windows XP and Vista. CD Projekt has stated that it has hopes to expand GOG to include the El Dorado that is the LucasArts game library. With any luck, classics such as Grim Fandango and Monkey Island will be available to a new generation of gamers. Doubtless the Mojo Collective will be pleased by this news (they embrace groupthink over there -- it avoids arguments).

Arátoeldar
Bookmarked for the future. I'd love to see them update the good SW games like DF2: JK1. However they would need to keep the cut-scenes in JK1

tk102
Freespace 2 will be a real treat for $5.99 or even $9.99 -- the cheapest you can get it on Amazon is $29.99 and other sellers list it as high as $150.

jrrtoken
Huzzah for Descent! I already have Descent 1 and 2, but I've never gotten around playing D3. Thankfully, since these iterations off of GOG will be DRM free, and that D1 & D2's source code is open source, people will be able to play them with greater compatibility and graphics with the number of OpenGL engines out there. Right now I'm running both D1 and D2 in DXX-Rebirth, and it's a massive nostalgia rush playing them once again.
patient_zero
All I can say is ":D". Now I have no excuse not to buy Fallout! Here's hoping it's a success so we get even more lovely old games without having to battle the used game rack on a weekly basis hoping someone will give up a classic.
