Ferc Kast
this looks interesting but the face need more work.. How specific. Which head are you referring to? If you tell us, I'm sure we can fix it...
Inyri
*cough* Wow, this hasn't seen the light in a while. Anyways, here are three new heads I've been working on for this mod recently: Sleeps-with-curved-sabers Mara Jade (still need to make portrait) Our favorite Naboo Senator I haven't done any work on E1 Obi-Wan recently, though. Work harder. Dooku is just fail, to be honest, as it looks like there's no depth to the beard at all. It looks more like someone covered him in shaving cream which I assume is not the look you're going for. Mara is just one of the default characters with red hair and pink lips (and let me tell you Mara would never be caught dead in that shade of lipstick). The Padme head, again, is just a default head with a headband added to her. I respect what you're trying to do, but none of the heads you've displayed up to this point look anything like they're supposed to. If you're unable to actually do that, I would recommend moving on to other projects until you enhance your skills. If you continue to contend "they're just early shots," then stop posting them until you have something to show that looks as it's supposed to. We're grabbing some reference pictures of teh interwebz, and skinning the heads of existing textures to look as similar to the reference pictures as possible. If you don't like what you see, then you don't have to download our project when its done. But others will, because they may like what we've done. If anyone thinks they can do a better job for this project, then say so. And prove it. I am personally getting tired of everyone being negative of our work. We work hard on this, so I'm gonna quote: "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all."
Inyri
Its kinda hard to make a completely new texture.Only if you don't try. You can 'reskin' those heads to look much closer to the 'reference pictures' you have, you're simply not interested in learning how to. Instead it seems you'd rather put together a quick and effortless mod to get as much attention as possible, whereas serious modders tend to enjoy the criticisms of more experienced modders so they can improve. So which group are you in?
TriggerGod
Only if you don't try. Ok, Inyri. Try and make a completely new texture (by scratch) and tell us how hard it is to get it to work ingame. You can 'reskin' those heads to look much closer to the 'reference pictures' TBH, you have no right to those words. We have excellent ref pics, and we get them as close to the we have as possible. you're simply not interested in learning how to. I lol'd YOU cannot say what we are interested in learning, and what we aren't. I am personally interested in learning about Lightsaber modeling, but if I put together a crappy saber, you say that I don't have any interest in it. Instead it seems you'd rather put together a quick and effortless mod to get as much attention as possible, whereas serious modders tend to enjoy the criticisms of more experienced modders so they can improve. We do enjoy the criticisms, just not when they are as harsh as your and EW's. Words such as yours makes us just wanna throw our project into the nearest black hole. So which group are you in? The group that wishes to have a serious mod, but wants to stay away from modding when people trash on our hard work.
Darth InSidious
I am personally getting tired of everyone being negative of our work. We work hard on this, so I'm gonna quote: "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." Then work harder and produce something worthy of note, rather than churning out low-quality, low-effort stuff like this. I mean, come on - that's not a reskin - you could do that in MS Paint. Inyri
Ok, Inyri. Try and make a completely new texture (by scratch) and tell us how hard it is to get it to work ingame.Uh, I do that on a regular basis with the vast majority of my mods.TBH, you have no right to those words. We have excellent ref pics, and we get them as close to the we have as possible.I have every right to say that. If you take the time you're spending defending yourself to actually learn something about what it is you claim you're doing you'll be able to get much closer.YOU cannot say what we are interested in learning, and what we aren't. I am personally interested in learning about Lightsaber modeling, but if I put together a crappy saber, you say that I don't have any interest in it.I lol'd too. You're telling an experienced texture artist to go away if she doesn't say your work is excellent beyond excellent. That speaks to me volumes about your interest in improving. We do enjoy the criticisms, just not when they are as harsh as your and EW's. Words such as yours makes us just wanna throw our project into the nearest black hole.EW is harsh. I am blunt. I don't give you any false impressions about your work because it only serves to cloud the issue. If you want to improve you need to know exactly where your work is lacking so you can improve it.The group that wishes to have a serious mod, but wants to stay away from modding when people trash on our hard work. You need to learn the difference between trashing your work and criticizing your work. You'll never get anywhere until you do.
El Sitherino
Then work harder and produce something worthy of note, rather than churning out low-quality, low-effort stuff like this. I mean, come on - that's not a reskin - you could do that in MS Paint. Quoted for emphasis. As someone that came from an editing community I can say that your work is a poor excuse of modifying. If you're going to claim something to be Dooku, or Padme, etc. it should look like these people. Simply painting something on does not make it what you wish it to be. I'm sorry you don't understand the concept, however that doesn't make any of the criticism in this thread unnecessary or harsh. You do realize that growth and improvement are key to developing in the modding community, right? If you don't want people to call your work trash, don't make trash. EnderWiggin
Ok, Inyri. Try and make a completely new texture (by scratch) and tell us how hard it is to get it to work ingame. You are very funny. Inyri's obviously able to do it. I lol'd This pretty much tells us everything. I am personally interested in learning about Lightsaber modeling, but if I put together a crappy saber, you say that I don't have any interest in it. That's what practice is for. Now, if you release 10 crappy sabers, and then start a saber pack, then maybe we will criticize a bit. We do enjoy the criticisms, just not when they are as harsh as your and EW's. Words such as yours makes us just wanna throw our project into the nearest black hole. The group that wishes to have a serious mod, but wants to stay away from modding when people trash on our hard work. We serve a greater purpose than your feelings. _EW_
TriggerGod
Fine, you guys just keep flaming. I don't really care anymore, and neither does Ferc. Then try and do this. We've had enough. TriggerGod, Ferc Kast, and LordRevan, along with anyone else working on our project is finished. You guys do a better one. We don't care.
