Caelfind Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Hi everyone! This is my first mod: four reskins for the fifth Caucasian head. I hope you like it http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm202/chgi/screenc.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm202/chgi/screenn.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm202/chgi/screenr.jpg http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm202/chgi/screenb.jpg DOWNLOAD http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/PFHC05_Reskins;93125
HIGH ON PIE 14 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I like the variety you have included here. The more options the better. I like the tatoos, very intricate...very nice. By the way - Welcome to Lucas Forums! ~HOP
Caelfind Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Thank you! I hope to add more options in my future releases, I just need some inspiration.
EGJason Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Nice Job Caelfind these are quite good quality and I really like that third one... And Welcome to Lucasforums! EGJason
redrob41 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 These are pretty good, however, I did notice a slight texture on their skin. It looks like the canvas texture from Photoshop's texturizer filter. Is that to make them look a little older? Also, have you tried to make them into newly selectable heads, rather than overwriting the existing skins?
Revan 411 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 These are very very good textures you made. Great Job!
Caelfind Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 Sorry if I didn't answer before, but I am studying for a really though exam These are pretty good, however, I did notice a slight texture on their skin. It looks like the canvas texture from Photoshop's texturizer filter. Is that to make them look a little older? Also, have you tried to make them into newly selectable heads, rather than overwriting the existing skins? I actually used a canvas filter to make the skin look a bit rougher, more realistic. Have you noticed it while playing or in the tga file? I hope in the tga... You are right, next time I'll try to add a new head instead of overwriting an existing one. Thanks everyone for your feedbacks!
redrob41 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I noticed the canvas texture in the tga file, but I just took a look at it in game. At a distance, the texture on the skin isn't noticable, but during the conversation close-ups, it has a bit of a pattern to it. Usually, when I want to add a bit of roughness, I'll go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise and set it to Gausian, Monochromatic, and about 0.5% - 1.5% range. Try it out, play with the percentage slider to see how much it affects different parts of a texture (skin may need less, hair might need more, etc).
Caelfind Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Thank you for the tip, redrob41. This reskin was the first work I have done without a tutorial, so I still have much to learn. Thanks Endorenna!
