Pikmin
I'm working on a saber and was just wondering, how can I make it so that it is held like the secret Apprentice's saber?
Exile007
It's possible. You'd need to do what SS is doing with the Revan model, importing it into max (or gmax). Then animate the lightsaber animations to your liking. It'd probably take awhile though...
TriggerGod
Actually, I think it may be possible, but it'll take a helluva lot time. I don't even know if it'll work, as I thought of it last nite. Anyways, in the Mdlops' renamer function, with a lightsaber (double saber, mind you) there are planes, which designate the color of the blade(s) depending on how your looking at it. Try putting a blank every other plane (first, third, fifth, ect..), and set it up. Try it out ingame, use the code your using, and put it in game. If the game crashes, try taking an existing saber texture, make everything transparent, save as a new texture, then, in the planes that you made blank, put in the new saber texture. If it works, then, only the bottom half of the saber should be visible. If only the top one, make the Even planes (second, fourth, sixth...) the transparent texture, and the Odd planes a different one (like the blue lightsaber texture name thing) Now, here is the tricky part. Try and give this new saber the Plasma Torch/Stun Baton animation. Then, report back to us, telling us how it works.
Pikmin
Marius fett made a backhand saber... if he will tell me how he did it, I'll try and give it the baton animation.
Marius Fett
Yowza, that was a long time ago. It didn't look that bad when I made it, there was only a little clipping, but I could fix that possibly. Shall I have a go?
Master Zionosis
Hmmm, I was doing a project like this a looong time ago. Here is the thread. Due to this thread reminding me of the project, I'm going to revive it.
Marius Fett
One less job for me then, MZ.
Sithspecter
Yes, it's possible. BUT, you would overwrite EVERY lightsaber and sword animation in the game, and it would take a long time. Honestly, it's just not worth it.
Marius Fett
^Not really. You can keep the default animations.. It doesn't look that bad.
Pikmin
My saber-ing still needs a little more owrk, before I work on how it is held. So I'll hold off on this for a little bit. I'll await the masters versions.
