Christos K Posted October 2, 2008 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Has anybody made a mod that brings the new feats and force powers we see in KotOR 2 to KotOR 1. I thought it would be a pretty cool mod not to mention popular. Plus the whole Construction and Item Upgrade in K2 is far better than in K1 in my opinion has anybody managed to make a mod that allows you to do the same in K1. I mean since we are allowed to pick different crystals for Lightsabers I would imagine it would be possible to create new upgrades for armor, swords and ranged weapons and choose those upgrades for armor, swords and ranged weapons instead of having the game choose the same things over and over again. I know this would be a long and difficult mod to make so I am not requesting it. I am asking if there is anyone who has made such a mod and where I could download it. Its also an idea as I am sure I am not the only one who would like these features for K1 as well as K2. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

RedHawke Posted October 3, 2008 Share Posted October 3, 2008 Well, there are quite a few totally new scripting functions in TSL that KotOR doesn't have, then the feats are indeed hard-coded in both games (we can create placeholder feats only), as well as the whole new upgrade system in TSL it also is basically hard-coded and completely 'alien' to the first game's upgrade system. So unfortunately no it isn't possible to do something like this, though some of the force powers should be possible to re-make in K1 but you wouldn't have any of the TSL animations for them and would have to make due with re-using ones from K1. I did make a mod that was an attempt at overhauling the Ebon Hawk's Workbench in K1 to have more options at what it could do, but there were limits to what could be done. Christos K Posted October 3, 2008 Author Share Posted October 3, 2008 Well I didnt really mean a complete conversion. And I also knew there were quite some many feats that required TSL's gameplay. So what I meant for Feats and Powers was that We look at all the new feats + powers that TSL brought and for those that are possible to be in K1. We *recreate* them for K1. Now about the Workbench thing. I was thinking in my head if we can choose different crytals for the Lightsaber couldnt we also *make/remake* the Ranged/Melee/Armor upgrades from K2 and have them in K1. And about the creating screen we could just remake a Buy/Sell screen to Create/Break Down. Even though this would require making many new items and than putting them in the game in boxes/corpes/etc like componets. But than again the way I am thinking this is possible may be because of my lack of knowledge with KotOR 1 modding considering the most modding I have done for K1 includes editing items and FPL (Feats per level) and PPL (powers per level) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We can't "remake" new GUI elements as those too are hard coded, I believe the most that has happened is messing with the visual elements of a GUI but creating new GUI functions is not possible. Darth InSidious Posted October 4, 2008 Share Posted October 4, 2008 Feats are sadly hard-coded, as has been said above, and the upgrade system wouldn't be possible to put into TSL - although a complex workaround might be possible, though it wouldn't be much like the system in TSL. However, on Force Powers, I can help you out... for, you see, this mod of mine just happens to contain recreations of the Revitalise and Floating Lightsabres ( think of the final fight in TSL )for K1. I also included a fire-power (pardon the pun), and a version of the 'Dark Rage' power from the Jedi Knight series. I guess that would leave with Force Body, i think there are like 3 New Enhancment Powers (Like Force Armor), Master Heal, Force Deflect, Drain Force, for Meditation I was thinking we could learn it by asking Bastila to teach it to us. And since she has a line "I will try." That could work but I dont remember exactly what it does I am pretty sure it increases all Saves. And maybe we could also learn Force Enligment (The power that activates Force Aura, Force Speed, forgot the last one lol) and a New Dark Side Power (Maybe a power that Is Force Storm, Death Field and Force Wave all in one That would be powerful.) *spoiler* after we confront Bastila on the Temple.
