jrrtoken
For those who did not know, today was the day of the official Nintendo Media Conference. In short, it blows Nintendo's E3 presentation out of the water. The most prominent feature was another Nintendo DS redesign, called the Nintendo DSi. Unlike its predecessor or any of the PSP revisions, this design is chock full of features, including two, count 'em, two digital cameras, an SD card slot, on board web browser, music playback, DSWare, a download service similar to the Wii Virtual Console. All this for around ¥18,900 ($180 USD). Right now, it will be released in Japan on the first of November. Some new Nintendo games, including (omg yezz), a sequel to Punch-Out!!! There will also be a new service called "Play on Wii", which are ports of GameCube games outfitted with Wii controls.

Giant Graffiti
The fact that I received the DS for my birthday a few months ago makes me sad. Oh well, I'm just mainly using it to play Scumm games. EDIT: Just thought about something. SD slot? I thought they wanted to crack down on homebrew and such. Jeff
Right now, it seems to be $180.That is how much it costs in Japan when converted to USD, but I am expecting it will be more like $150 in the US (hopefully). Looks pretty cool, but not really sure about it. While I only have a couple GBA games, it does not have a GBA slot and I do not have a GBA so I would not want to sell my DS lite in place of it. I am also disappointed with the battery life. The DS has very good battery life I think, but this one is said to only have 3-4 hours at maximum brightness, and it increases by an hour or two each level of brightness you go down. Overall I like the sound of the new features, and I think the virtual console for handhelds will make it worth it, but we'll see. Oh also if you get it by March '10 you get 1000 points for free for the vc store. The other thing that sucks is the release dates. It comes out in Japan this year, in Europe Spring 09, and not till "late 09" for the US. Suck.
Lynk Former
Also, the Play on Wii series will apparently be updated to have widescreen capability. At least that's what I can see from videos of Pikmin I saw recently.
